Even though I have seen this video a few times now, I had to watch it again today! First time seeing Men at Work in Monterey back in 1981 or there about, as a young 26 year old guitar player tending bar at the local Hell's Angle's club, pretty much changed my attitude of guitar playing and utilizing arpeggio playing in rock tunes... Duh... nobody was doing it except for guys like Greg Lake, Steve Howe and a handful of others. Great players for sure, But.... Colin took it to a level of a poet with a guitar. So... 30 years later, give or take. I see Colin again, on his own. Solo guitar in a bar.... WTF !! And saw this happen... I had pretty much put my guitar away for my profession as a contractor building custom homes... Now, at 66 and retired, I sit around and play all of Colin's songs acoustically, fingerstyle, jamming with a few friends and built a nice home recording studio. So put your headphones on, get on Colin's home KZread site and listen to his latest version of Men At Work, and play.... Got it? Do it, do it right now.... This man will go down in history as one of the top writers, guitar players and generally one of the best troubadours of all time. (Troubadour-Wandering Poet and musician). My wife and I go see Colin as often as we can. Love his stories, though I think I know all of them now... Like Ringo said... I know all my stories, I want to hear yours. Thanks, Colin, and Norm!!! Great. Next time, make sure the phones ringer is off. LOL

Choir, for me, is the second best. This song is so intimate. I’ve searched hi and lo for a better ver. Including the original. There’s so much emotion, it’s hard to get perfect I think.
More people need to appreciate this guy NOW! Ringo doesn't just pick musicians out of a hat. He is legend...go see this guy while he is still touring! I missed a few legends...won't miss Colin..

@@brianglendenning1632 So awesome!
My sister used to listen to men at work, i was a very young boy and couldn't understand the lyrics. Throughout the decades I had lost memories of those days with my sister till I heard this song, and all of a sudden it opened a path and all sorts of memories rushed in. As an adult I know understand the song and love it. Such a huge talent. Just in awe. Thank you so much for having recorded this and shared it with us. So Greatful.
LOL
Every so often, we encounter something or experience something that reminds us that life is beautiful and we're so lucky to be alive. There is such beauty in this world. What a special moment that was. Thank you Norm for sharing this with us.

I am a bassist, and a teen in the 1980’s. I remember this song well, it owned the radio. But honestly, I prefer this acoustic version. Just Colin and his guitar.
Ridiculous how good this is. Just stop by a shop and drop immense talent like its nothing. So cool!!!!
I'm a thrash punk guitar player... and, I fuggin love Colin Hay! #VarietyIsTheSpiceOfLife
His "I Just Don't Think I'll Get Over You" is my favorite ch songs. So intimate and sad - instant tears each time I listen to it.

I used to love that song you mentioned. I even put an instrumental of it on my channel. I can no longer listen to it since I lost my wife last year.
Colin Hay... what a good, decent man he seems to be. No matter what I see/hear him on; radio, TV, KZread videos, et al., he's always pleasant, humble, and happy to perform.
I couldnt stay in business if i were Norm - i would just give him the guitar after hearing that. one of my favorite songs of all time.
Who knew at the heart of this pop song was a gem of introspective sweet melancholy.
Really surprised and amazed ..the original recording was a pop hit at the time but this perfect .
The J35 sounds perfect under his amazing composition and next to his beautiful voice. Top notch.
I never realized what a great singer Colin is/was. He sounds even better in his higher range!
Don't get anymore honest than this, great songwriting, great vocals, and great guitar work !

Colin Hay is a legend. A great band career followed by a prolific acoustic career. Simply one of the best ever. Great songwriter, tremendous player and singer. Everyone should take notes on this man and his career. I wish I could thank him for all the wonderful music in the memories.
Tears ! Thank you Colin.
What a very wonderful man. Happy, doesn't want your money and is happy to share his pitch-perfect music. Colin Hay. Great acoustic player. I very rarely play my electrics anymore. There is something lovely about a few nice chords on a good-sounding acoustic. Play on.
Mr. Hay is a straight LEGEND no doubt!!
0:54 Hey oblivious guy in the background! There is a legend playing an incredible song. lol

23 Years of age, and I can't stop rewinding this video.
Thank you for sharing your gift Mr.Hay
Awesome. Just found this and watched it 50 times in two days. He also posted a how to video..chords are fairly simple but oh so sweet...lyrics way better than i remembered...now that im older i guess it really means something to me. His voice is amazing too...
One of the best bands of the 80's. I saw them back then @ PNC Arts center in NJ....... & I was floored. Now go watch the video of the 'electric version' & dream....cause dreams come true.
I've seen him live three times. He is mondo talented as a singer, songwriter, and guitarist. The entire package.

What a great talent Colin Hay is.
That's a pretty complicated well constructed song, I love the lyrics....my heart shows the fear, ghosts appear and fade away, brilliant
I used to see Men At Work regularily as a young man in Melbourne in the Early 80s a superb band and great memories
His folks ran a music store in Scotland prior to his move to Australia when he was only 14. He is used to hanging around a shop full of instruments such as this one. Saw him live in the 80's with Men at work. He just gets better as he matures.
Round of applause. Beautiful
One of the greatest “ballads” ever written. Colin is one of the most underrated singer/songwriter/guitarist ever. If you want to learn how to play this song, He’ll show you on KZread. Just search Colin Hay’s Overkill lesson.
This man and his band's music piqued my interest in music back in the early 80's and led me to a lifelong guitar hobby which has made me income and joy. God Bless Colin Hay!
What an artist ! Awesome
Thank you Colin. Sweet voice big time!
One of our most underrated musicians and one of the best that we’ve produced on these beautiful shores of Scotland. Colin Hay Saltcoats finest musician.
I can't get to sleep..its 12:26am..gotta work at 6am...i drank brew and ate tacobell and now im watching Colin hay...thank you! It reappears 😔
I think I'm the biggest Colin Hay fan in America. Love this man so much.
I think this song is even better when played this way. So pure! What a talent you Mr. Hay. Bravo. 👏😎🎸
Magic song and singer! Thank you Colin for this pearl. Best wishes
Norm must have the coolest job in history. Rare epic guitars and legends like Colin Hay just popping by and busting out pure golden melodys of deliciousness. FML 😔
my god, such a unique voice!
This song is embedded in my childhood memories. Brought tears seeing him perform it again here.
bring tears to my eyes. There is something very special about this performance from Mr. Colin Hay
I grew up with Men at Work as a Sydney boy ... This is the 1st time I've actually 'heard' the lyrics. Thank you Colin ... and Norman :)
I went goose bumps !!!! Really, imagine walking into a music store amd meeting this man.-
Wow, what a treasure of a song, and Colin Hay has never gotten his due for his talent. His voice is still amazing 35 years later.
Dude.. Just to walk into a music shop and to see this bestowed upon my eyes.. Man what i wouldnt do.. Im only 21 and i miss these days..
I loved Men at Work growing up in the 80s. They had great hits. Awesome. Colin Hay is a great guitar player.
Worked with Colin and his band in '87 as a stage roadie for two gigs around Melbourne one weekend. Those were my first serious gigs when I was just starting in the music biz. I have fond memories of Colin as a kind and humble guy, easy to talk to, nothing to prove.
That was incredible times a million, this song always reminds me of the 80's and my teen years
I have a whole new appreciation for this song.
Outstanding . I , for proberly 30 years have loved M.A.W , colins voice and the mucianship of the band was fantastic . I have seen many clips of them but this one of colin in Norms shop actually made me cry ...ya i know crazy ! I think its because in a few moments i can see the life journey of this great singer songwriter and it really made me think how precious time is and we have to do as much within that time and spread the love , which in these times needs spreading thickly . God bless Norms shop even though i have played drums for over 40 years hehe love the shop . And colin you are a gentleman and a scholar, keep on keeping on .
I have watched this performance a dozen times and still love it! BRAVO!!!!
only colin hay could pick up a guitar in a shop and deliver such a performance ...no mixers no effects just pure talent nd the guy just gets better and better like fine wine
This guy is one of the reasons I miss the 80’s. Another great song from a great time to be alive.
That was THE BEST!!! Thanks Colin!!! Thanks Norm!!!
Colin Hay is great ......great singer , songwriter, guitarist
Love this guy brings back alot of wonderful memories

WOW THOSE LYRICS ARE SOMETHING ELSE ,,, THANK YOU WARMED MY HEART THIS MORNING WITH MY COFFEE!
Such a beautifully intimate song.
Colin is the best. Thanks Norm✌🏻️❤️
Man, that was amazing. One of my favorite songs, period.
Way to go Norm,,,so many singers retire early , or just disappear from the scene but Colin Hay is already a legend, encouraging all ages for his work and personality and will surely go on for ever as part of Men at Work and solo!! To all readers, support artists...buy there original material. Thanx for your inspiration Colin...........Ivan Celleri Contreras
Amazing! This song takes me back to 1983. Colin is right, his performance was priceless.
Most underated muso of our times..Great storyteller and surprisingly introspectual. One of my all time favorites along with Dylan and of course John Lennon..please listen to his solo projects if you get the chance..the duck's nuts..
Brings tears to my eyes listening
I love this version. I downloaded this video and convert it to audio. And always listen to it everytime I walk home at night from work.
Colin Hay's a national treasure in at least 3 countries.
Still got it man
Excellent performance... thanks, Colin...!

Damn. Soul stirring lyrics. Amazing.
So many great songs from the forgotten ( mostly) Men At Work, glad to see Colin is still around.
I never really appreciated how good of a singer he is until hearing this performance. He’s so effortless.
I absolutely love Colin Hay
This one of the best performances I have seen in my long life.
Wow still sounds like my childhood. Thanks Colin and Norm for that memory!
Colin is so great. Sat 3' from him at Le Express during a solo set back in the '80s. Thanks Norman for doing what you do!
What a legend he is.
