About 2 Meter Sessions
====================
Based in the Netherlands, 2 Meter Sessions is an independent, ongoing (new) music platform with a great legacy. Monthly we film 3 to 4 sessions with promising and breakthrough acts from all over the world.
Many well-known acts have visited the show; from James Taylor, Elliott Smith and David Crosby to Damien Jurado, Ben Howard and Josh Ritter, via Radiohead, Nirvana, Coldplay and Foo Fighters. Archive footage can regularly be seen in (theatrical) documentary movies, like “Mystify: Michael Hutchence” (with footage of our session with INXS, filmed in 1997), “Heaven Adores You” (with footage of our session with Elliott Smith, filmed in 1998) and “All I Can Say” (with footage of our session with Blind Melon, filmed in 1993).
The show started back in 1987 by radio presenter Jan Douwe Kroeske. On his popular national radio show he persuaded New-Zeeland band Crowded House to play a couple of songs. The response of the public was so great, that 2 Meter Sessions quickly became a household name. In 1993, the show made a successful transition to national television. From there the show became a national phenomenon, for over 10 years, with filmed sessions of new talent, breakthrough acts and arrived career artists. Almost a million of 2 Meter Sessions cd’s were sold in the Netherlands.

It was obvious they had a zeitgeist going for them when they released this. It's interesting that Radiohead could have tried to do a big anthemic song like this but went left field (brilliantly so) so there was a open door for a band with a song like Yellow

guitar and bass together on same note and same rhythm it's sublime
The best live recording of this in my eyes, or ears even. Pure, clean and crisp.
This is what Coldplay has been to me, and what Coldplay should’ve been. Songs that hit in an emotional level. The albums I often revisit the most are Parachutes and A Rush of Blood To The Head, however, lately Parachutes has definitely been the one I listen to the most. Not that the stuff after is terrible, but something about their first 2 albums hit different for me

This delight deserves praise. This song is timeless. 2021 beauty
I’ve always been drawn to the sonic sound that Jonny Buckland creates for Coldplay. An incredibly important compliment to the songwriting of Chris Martin.
Wow the amount of respect I just gained for Coldplay... This live session is absolutely breathtaking. So raw and honest, but still so refined. They were clearly undyingly passionate of their craft

Yellow is always has been my favorite color. For you I'd bleed myself dry. Look how they shine. Glory, honor, peace.
Everyone is talking about how they were....I marvel at the journey that led them to where they are now! Loved them then and now!
Thé first three Coldplay records literally saved my life. Thank you guys for making my teenage years and fresh men year into college more palletable
Chris Martin: pourin' honey in your ear for over 22 years. His voice is marvelous to this day.
I never truly complain about my favorite artist's changes. Thats something natural and good. How could they be the same people after 21 years experiencing soooo many things ? Some people can prefer how we were during a certain period in life... but it doesnt mean it was our best version. They are still alive and I hope we have the opportunity to see them changing more and more
21 years latter and a i’m here! 🥺❤️
A 'yellow' full of freshness, passion and great music👍nice Chris' in love voice hypnotising💘
Nostalgia hits me hard with this song over and over and over again!!😅😅
I think it was anbout this time (1999 or 2000)when I was switching through the TV Channels at 3 AM. MTV was not "my" favourite but by chance I realized the band sounded very very interesting abd I wanted to know who was playing. There were only two songs : The Scientist and Yellow I was excited and bought the CD (Rush of blood....). I and had to order Parachutes. I introduced my discovery to all friends and colleagues. M and many loved it just like I did. After a few month Coldplay was on radio literally e ery station and every hour. I ignored the following albums becaus it seemed only commercial Pop and Coldplay lost it's magic fir me. It came back for a short while when I heard Fix Youm But 2018 changed everything. Friends took me to the Head full of dreams concert at Frankfurt Commerzbank Arena. It was one of the greatest events I have ever seen and in the past 50 years I have seen many shows from local to international bands. Since then i listen a lot - also the albums I ignored for so long. I don't like everything but still some somgs are mice some are awesome Live they perform breathtaking great that it's impossible to describe . 2022 show was amoremazing too.😊
Wow! I saw them live in Sheffield (Leadmill) in 2000. They were great in the early days. I wouldn't watch them now for love nor money. Much love.
i was still in the womb when they performed this song, and now I'm 22 years old and still listening to it
Look at the stars Look how they shine for you And everything you do Yeah they were all yellow I came along I wrote a song for you And all the things you do And it was called "Yellow" So then I took my turn Oh what a thing to have done And it was all yellow Your skin Oh yeah, your skin and bones Turn into something beautiful You know, you know I love you so You know I love you so I swam across I jumped across for you Oh what a thing to do 'Cause you were all yellow I drew a line I drew a line for you Oh what a thing to do And it was all yellow Your skin Oh yeah your skin and bones Turn into something beautiful And you know For you I'd bleed myself dry For you I'd bleed myself dry It's true Look how they shine for you Look how they shine for you Look how they shine for Look how they shine for you Look how they shine for you Look how they shine Look at the stars Look how they shine for you And all the things that you do

Ah good old Coldplay. A band that totally sold out and now is more of a business than band. The passion here is totally non existent in the Coldplay of today.
@marone0324
2 жыл бұрын
They didn't HAVE to sell out either. Which is weird. They had plenty of money from their first 4 albums, and could have easily just made music they wanted to make after. That is unless they just had a deal with the record label that dictated what they could write or not.
I miss when Coldplay pretended they were Radiohead
