The crowd around him hushes and tells the little boy not to give his violin to the him while they throw slurs at him. The little boy smiles at the solider and the solider gives him a tired weak smile. He lays down his gun and extends his hand asking for the instrument. The boy places the small violin in the soldiers hand. The solider lifts the bow and plays a sad, beautiful melody that hushes the crowd all throughout the town square. The boy smiles from ear to ear as the solider finishes his song. The boy claps and jumps up and down. "Boleye! Boleye! Pozhaluysta, ser! More! More! Please, Sir!" The solider shakes his head but now smiles from ear to ear as well. He puts the violin back in the arms of the small boy and gives the boy a deep bow, filled with utmost respect. The boy laughs and runs and gives the solider a bear-hug. The solider's eyes become misty as he clutches the boy's small frame. The people around them wonder in awe.
