When you're going uphill, have the poles shorter, and add 5-10cm on the way down.

Yeah, this is what I've seen/read: your elbow should be at 90 degrees when stood still with em, and shorten them up hill and lengthen them downhill. Only used them once or twice, but they were a god-send going up and down Ingleborough with 10kg on my back 👍

Stunning video Trev! It's good to see Nath in a tent for a change. Unfortunately, there will be people who come to the moors just to have a barbecue, or to light a fire. You two turning up in the same jacket is Summit Or Nothing at its finest. Magnificent views on Steeperton Tor. Thanks for sharing, take care, Jordan.

It all started off so well, T shirt, sunglasses and sunscreen (my head always has a covering of Factor 50 in the sun). It looked a great place to camp, great views and still great weather but there is always somebody who wants to bring and use a BBQ, usually leaving it when they go too! Loved the matching jackets😂 and the evening/night skies and I like the sound of a harem mind! That wind picked up in the night mind, looked brutal but at least there was no accompanying rain, cheers Alan

Brilliant guys, you two make us laugh! Always better to be blown off rather than drowned, absolutely!!!!. Good shout on the black diamond poles, I have a set and they are brilliant, much better I think that the Leki ones I have. Tip for sizing them, turn them upside down and hold the stem under the basket and your arm should be at about 90degrees to the ground. That way when you have them the right way up and the tips are in soft ground they're at the optimum height. Steeperton Tor looked brilliant as always, I parked at Belstone last week when I walked over to Great Links for my wild camp. Beautiful views and a great sunset as well.

I prefer using my hiking stick (just one) like a old fashioned stick so your palm rests on the top rather than clutching it around the side. Very much a preference thing rather than a tip. A bit worried about Nath's wrists/fingers with how he his using the strap on the poles. He could easily break or dislocate a thumb if he slips or falls and tries to put a hand down to catch himself. Some great vids on here if you wanna learn to use them properly up hill and down and how to use the straps if you want to give them a fair crack. Loving the videos, keep up the good work guys!

Take it from a Norwegian💃, born with skis on my feet😉😅Nathan, check out the video that 'Synthesis...' has linked to and see how he puts his hands through the straps-that is the correct way to do it. If you fall using the straps the way you do, you will probably dislocate or break your thumb or injure your wrist. And we can't have that, can we-you need to be fit for your next trip-which we are all eagerly waiting for😁 Brilliant video-as always!👍🏼😊

The trick with walking poles is for whatever angle of slope you're on the angle of your elbow to be around 90°. So shorter uphill, longer downhill. Nath had them far far too long on that ascent so he was reaching and stretching up with every step he took.
