I also carry a fixed blade daily. Fortunately given the area I live in, nobody has ever said anything about it. I do get looks but honestly they’re looks of jealousy rather than actual fear. Living in the middle of nowhere has its perks.

@@chadthunderd1ck734 yeah, I agree. I think with more states becoming open carry, Texas, and now Florida is open carry as long as you’re hunting/fishing. I think more and more of society is getting used to it. Plus I really don’t see a problem with carrying a fixed blade, even in an urban environment. Especially the fact that most of them are 5” or under so it’s not like we’re walking down the street with an Irish claymore or some shit. Lol and if you check the knife laws in any state besides California and New York you’ll often find pretty reasonable knife laws. Most states don’t care as long as it’s not a spike, dirk, spear, or dagger(edged both sides) you can carry fixed blades legally almost everywhere

Weird how different countries have different laws. You would be in jail quick sharp for carrying in the UK and it would be a hefty sentence as well.

With a tecklock the SRK compact can be carried horizontal and isn't really noticable. Its one of my favorites to carry!

You talked me into getting 2 of them.the compact to carry and the big one for the front of my vest. I always carry a craftsman speing assisted folder. Not the best looking knife but i use it every day and its a famn good knife especially for unde $20. I like it so much i bought 8 of them when Napa started clearing out their craftsman tools.

I really like compact SRK. I’m not a fan of the hollow grind. That mini Pendleton hunter is a awesome knife. It is really to keep screaming sharp. The SRK is basically 1085 so it’s also easy to maintain. Funny how coldsteel makes up new names for steel. I carry mine with one strap on the inside of my belt. I had a Camillus coldsteel when I was in the service. Back in the 90s they were extremely thick. I really like the compacts grind it’s a great do anything knife.

I carry a Jars Echis (German Brand) scout style, nobody has ever noticed I carry a fixed blade 😊 downside is it's as expensive as all of the SRKs on your table 🫤 but its a fun little knife with N690 steel and G10 handles... The green compact looks nice 🤔 seems like I need a new knife 😅

I ignored/avoided these knives for years...snobbery is all i can think of for my reason. Cheap, and probably nasty, i thought. Wrong ! Probably the best value ...bang for your buck...in the knife world. Now i own 3... 2 old skool Carbon V and a new SK 5 .. which came shaving sharp! And, with another SK 5 one on the way today, I Must get one more in cmp 3v ... Then I'm set! $320 AUD :-(

Seems like it depends which forge made it and when. Mine are all flat, I think a hollow grind would be all wrong for a blade that needs the extra strength to baton and whatnot.
