As a Cold Steel owner and Operator of their knives and swords, they make the some really good blades. I own the Chisa Katana, the Hand and Half Series, the 5 Finger Blade, the Hybrid Cutlass, the Magnum Tanto XII in San Mai, and I edc the Kobun and Urban Pal. So yeah, it's cool to see Cold Steel make a come back.

Please don't let this channel become a soft porn site. This young lady looks respectable. She doesn't belong here. People are sick-o's today. She used that sword like a baseball bat. Disgusting to have her here for what we know she really is here for. We should never stoop to those levels. I came here for knives. Traditional Cold Steel blood and guts. I'm a 30 year customer. I sure hope Cold Steel stays as close to what Lynn made it. I have over 40 CS knives, almost 90 pieces that are not knives in total. I EDC the 6" serrated Vaquero Grande folder in my right pocket for almost 30 years. I added the Rajah ll to my left in March 2020 EDC. I love this company. I buy nothing else. Please make sure the new company knows who their base is. No fluff. Just edges.

@@janusjones6519 Sir I have seen and I own two of them. No matter what ever the way a blade built ( I mean tamahagane steel or not) I appreciate every quality blade and love to see them up close no matter how nice the lady who handles the blade

I bought an authentic tiachi (made for horse back riding) from a Japanese maker a few years back at a hefty price!... Really nice craftsmanship (eel skin leather design)! I admire those who really know what they are doing with heat/thaw clay techniques, folding blade grain alignments!... It's a beautiful art!

That Engage looks awesome! Been a Cold Steel fan since getting my first tanto Voyager with the molded non-metallic pocket clip!

Amazing sword. If it is anything like your knives, it is built to last and take on even the gods. I'm waiting for the serrated Spartan. It will be my next knife. I liked the plain blade Spartan so well I purchased another, just in case (like it would truly ever break). Cold Steel rules the blades in my collection.

I've wanted a Cold Steel Katana since highschool. What if I'm already subscribed?

Yup I just got one. To be honest, I thought that was a typo on the length. But impressed right out of the box. A tad point heavy. But nothing training can't help with. I was hoping for just the katana, but I'll wait now. I have the chisa sword I love that. I'll probably have to get the whole set. I just got a knife too. Well thanks. It is not made the traditional Japanese way. It is forged and heat-treated thoroughly. it does not mean it is any worse. The CS blades are made the way European swords are made. It is a Maru construction, so no high-carbon insert for the cutting edge. I find their Japanese blades heavy. Nicely finished but heavy. "Emperor (blade) is styled to reflect some of the most distinctive hallmarks of Japanese sword design. We use only traditional materials for our Tsuba (guard), Fuchi (collar), and Kashira (pommel) - Each piece is expertly made and finely crafted in nickel-silver. The Habaki (blade collar) is also hand-made from nickel-silver and the hilt is covered in samé (ray skin) and tightly wrapped in the traditional style with black silk cord. A beautiful Menuki (a small, ornamental sculpture inserted between the ray skin and the cord wrappings) further enhances the handles' appearance. All of our Emperor swords feature fully sharpened 1060 carbon steel blades that are heat-treated to a tough spring temper. The blade is then carefully hand-finished with a beautiful mirror polish applied to the fuller." Materials are out there but I would not expect more than 50HRC out of this edge. You will not break it, that's for sure.

@@HanSolo__ i agree. CS Katana’s are overly tip heavy, not nimble. I do like their Chisa as a step up from a waki, i must say. Overly built. In any event, we all know who forge’s these for cold steel. I hope GSM keeps notice of the chitana QC from D forge 🤔😂🤣 (tell em Han, tell the people who manufactures their katana’s.)

It’s definitely a large sword. If you’re doing lots of drawing practice you’ll need to put lots of leg and hip movement into it or it’ll be difficult. Aside from that, for pure cutting power, is insanely high. The extra length of the blade and handle + extra heft all help that out. However, the balance can suffer because of this if there’s not enough distal taper in the blade.

As a target cutting implement, Cold Steel "swords" are not bad. As a sword, they tend to be overly forward heavy and unwieldy. The few I had ten+ years also had poor harmonic balance and vibrated badly through the handle.

Where is this sword made? US or overseas? What is the blade metal? I'm guessing 1060? I'm 6'6 and I'm looming for a sword that can actually go out to a battlefield as well as practicing with the matts. Price?
