The first time I saw a Pantera up close, was at a guy's house. He had it in his garage....a yellow Pantera. I remember asking, "Is that a Pantera?" He smiled real big and nodded his head up and down. I'll never forget it.

I worked for a guy back in the mid 70's that had a Pantera. He took me for a ride in it one day. I didn't realize, at the time, just how special that ride was.

I worked at a auto collision center in Castle Rock, CO back around 2004. There was a guy on the same street as us that built and restored Pantera's. When a car was being completed he would take it for a shake down test drive. The front office windows of our shop faced the street. It was always a nice treat when I would hear him start a Pantera and he would come driving by slowly. He would stop the car just as he got past our shop and then he would stand on the throttle and take off down the road. Then you would hear him coming back to his shop just kinda idling by our facility. I remember it sounding so awesome.

Er yeah, because De Tomaso have been wildly more successful than Lamborghini..! The Pantera is an amazing looking car and with the right engine, sounds amazing. But let's be honest, it was Italian styling with a bloody great US V8 in it. At least Lamborghini built the whole car, engine as well - and went all in on the V12 which even in the Aventador it had DNA from the Miura..
