Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on KZread, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on KZread. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on KZread, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

Khe Sanh - Kay San - One of Cold Chisel's greatest songs. Don Walker is a great songwriter for Chisel. There are so many songs you could check out - Breakfast at Sweethearts, Star Hotel, Forever Now.

'There were no V Day hero in 1973' = WWII veterans where revered for their service during World War 2. The Vietnam vets where treated badly by all people upon return = the people/civilians but also the government - the worse thing was the disregard the governments and subsequent governments of the day, treated these men and woman on there return P.S. The song was banned in Australia upon release

Cold Chisel are doing their big 50 tour in Australia in October celebrating 50 years check out when the war is over written by Drummer Steve Prestwich who passed in 2011 starts with the amazing voice of Ian Moss then Jimmy Barnes chimes in the live performance is brilliant

Such a deep, deep rabbit hole is Chisel. The next couple to listen to are 'Bow River' & 'When the War is Over' both live from the Ringside Tour 2003.

Khe Sanh may be a city, but the song is named after the Battle of Khe Sahn. It was an American battle, but Australian Air Force pilots were seconded to the American gun-ship helicopters flying close support to troops on the ground. It meant a great deal of courage getting close enough to the enemy to see their faces as you were killing them and a little bit of craziness to be looking down the barrels of AA guns shooting at you as you fired rockets into their positions. It was particularly traumatic for the pilots trying to keep their crew alive while trying to eliminate Viet Kong attacking ground troops. Everything depended on their skill. The song tells the story of someone who was piloting a gun-ship in that battle and the devastation it wreaked in his life.

Cold Chisel is my number 1 band, and Jimmy Barnes is my favourite artist. Whilst Don Walker is the major writer, each band member has written a hit song. Isn’t Moss, the lead guitarist also has an excellent voice, and the harmonies with Jimmy are sublime. I’ve got tickets to see them in October 2024 on their 50th anniversary tour. I can’t wait.

This song was off their first album and was banned from Australian radio due to its explicit lyrics but it only served to make it more popular, to the point where now many Australians count this song as an unofficial national anthem. Yeah its about a vet struggling to fit back into society after the war. Chisel began as a pub rock band who played covers of Led Zeppelin and CCR, which is amazing as every band member was a songwriter. Almost 50 years of music and you will struggle to find a bad song...try their ballad Four Walls or maybe check out Georgia s, o that you can see how good the other lead singer, Ian Moss, is. Don Walker is a genius songwriter.

Well spotted. "Heartland"? You're right about Mellencamp and Segar, who did well along with Chisel, but never came near Chisel's popularity in Australia. Please, remember the dates mentioned. I was a punk at that time, but Chisel were our punks.

Pick the live acoustic version. Just got tickets to see Cold Chisel in Brisbane as they tour later this year to celebrate 50yrs as a band!. They are the soundtrack to Aussie life for me as a '71 model of human. Never actually got to see them live,so absolutely stoked to catch them this year finally!. Cheers big ears!, Zebedee from Oz. 👍

I never understood people leaving negative comments on music that's not to their liking. I click off and move on. I understand and respect people having taste that is not to my liking, and I don't yuk their yum, because I think it takes an egotistical person to make their ''yuk'' be known to everybody else. But then you have to call out a nation over it? You're being a troll.

@@antipodean_antonette Okay Aussie, I never heard of this band. They never crossed over to the UK and I can see why. This is very bland music that's for people that most likely don't like music. I can't imagine Australians having much knowledge of music. You certainly wouldn't know anything about culture. I won't be returning to this band, or any Australian band for that matter. You really are a third division society.

@@deadly_serious_prog_rock_a2431 Alright, you are not talking to some kid that you can manipulate and shame. I am in my early thirties and I don't suffer fools gladly. I have traveled several countries around the world during the past fifteen years, and I have an extensive knowledge of music. I also know that people that cast great generalisations are often people that don't travel nor have a curiosity about the world around them. You using the fact that they didn't cross over to UK against them shows how parochial you are. Like making it in the UK is an indicator of a band's credibility. Find out about the American or Canadian bands that didn't make it into the UK because your silly media wanted to lord their own acts onto the British public. You've spoken to the wrong person. I can see right through you, so just give up the game.
