This video based on umar marvi folklore. Which is famous in sindh. The protagonist of the story is Marvi, a young Khaskheli girl of the Panhwar tribe abducted by the then-ruler of Amarkot, the king Umar Soomro, who wanted to marry her because of her beauty. And make her queen Upon her refusal, she was imprisoned in the historic Amarkot Fort for several years., Mari loved nothing but her homeland and after years when she returned, her tribe warmly welcomed her, that story of marvi expressed in the song. Mari chose her homeland other the castle .the peacock shows the marvi when she comes and eat the simple food of her homeland.❤ I hope all of you understand it

These folk singers are from Thar dessert in sindh and peacocks are found over there aswell ..Being a sindhi .. this song is SOMETHING .. you hear singing to rap to folk singing .. and the music is just GREAT ..HATS OFF TO COKE STUDIO

Umarkot ke Hain ye log

Peacock here symbolizes a beautiful girl from sindh who has them sharp and witty features and who has fought for her freedom. A classic depiction of resilience of that girl. To when she returns home after fighting for what's right against tyranny, her people welcome here by saying "AAYI AAYI" which means :"she has come and she has been undefeated". This is how Sindhi people celebrated a girl/woman's resilience ❤

Little correction, chohlistan is located in southern punjab. As this is sindhi song . Peacock symbolises Thar region (only green desert in the world) located east Sindh. Because, wild peacocks are largely found there.
