Yes, as long as the device supports cctalk it will work. Coin/note acceptors or hoppers will all work with this.

I bought the same or a similar USB-to-TTL-cable on amazon and wired it accordingly. It houses a PL2303 controller and i checked that there is 12V and 3,3V on data, but i cant get it to work. CCTalk test software reports that there is a device, but not a CCTalk-device. The coin acceptor is EMP 850.13 v5.

I got a question, will a bill accept or work as well?

Will this be able to update my sr5i to new pound coins.

can I use the software features in this video to reprogram an SR5 to accept the new 5p and soon to be £1 coins?

For a pulse coin acceptor you need to use a keyboard encoder interface, search on ebay for:- Keyboard Encoder
