We had people make a photo copy of a dollar and place it right behind a good dollar. The magnetic heads in the dollar validator reads parts of the dollar to make sure it is a dollar. When the dollar is taken AND the photo copy is stuck behind the dollar the vending company thinks the dollar validator is accepting fake dollars. One time we had someone fill the dollar bill validator with crazy foam. Man that stuff really messed up the validator. There went $ 400+ in the trash.

Nice intro to the coin mec. I'm learning how to repair the ones from my dads vending business. He has all kinds. Can you point me in the direction to get a test system so I can work on them on my work bench vs inside the machine

You are missing the clear plastic shield on the front of the coin acceptor. This model does not have an escrow feature so if you don't have enough money in your pocket you are out of luck.

I am trying to fix a $1.00 Canadian coin mechanism and have one piece that I can't figure out where it goes. It belongs to a Tomy Gacha machine.
