    @@Superguru123 No Tesla did not discover or invent AC current, check your sources. AC current was known since at least 1832 when Pixii was developing the electrical generator. Tesla developed a practical AC motor by using 2-phase AC in 1887. Ferraris did the same thing two years earlier in 1885. Westinghouse bought both patents. The Europeans were ahead in AC transmission. Italy, Hungary, England all had short distance AC systems t and finally Germany, 1891, the first long distance transmission. 175 miles.

    Inventors of AC Current If pixii invented the AC current then who are oblathy and William which also invented the AC current I'm not aware of anyone named Pixii who is credited with inventing AC current. The invention of AC current is generally attributed to Nikola Tesla and George Westinghouse in the late 19th century. It's possible that Oblathy and William are not well-known figures in the history of AC current, or that there is a mistake or confusion in the information you have been provided. Hippolyte Pixii Hippolyte Pixii was a French instrument maker who built one of the first generators of alternating current (AC) in 1832, several decades before the more well-known AC systems developed by Nikola Tesla and George Westinghouse. Pixii's generator used a revolving magnet to create an alternating current in a coil of wire, which was then used to power a small motor. This early AC generator was not practical for large-scale power generation and distribution, but it was a significant step in the development of AC technology. Otto blathy in William Stanley Jr Otto Blathy and William Stanley Jr. were both inventors and engineers who made significant contributions to the development of alternating current (AC) technology in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Otto Blathy was a Hungarian engineer who invented an AC power system using a rotating transformer, which he patented in 1891. He also developed a system for the distribution of AC power over long distances, which was known as the Blathy system. William Stanley Jr. was an American inventor and electrical engineer who developed an improved transformer for use in AC power systems. He was the first to wind the transformer coils around an iron core, which greatly increased their efficiency. He also developed the first practical system for the distribution of AC power to multiple customers, known as the Stanley Arc Light System, which was used to supply power to street lights in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, in 1886. Both Blathy and Stanley's contributions were significant in the development of more efficient and practical AC power systems, which laid the foundation for the widespread use of AC power in industry and homes. So who invented AC The invention of alternating current (AC) can be attributed to a number of people who made significant contributions to the development of AC technology in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. One of the earliest known generators of AC power was built by French instrument maker Hippolyte Pixii in 1832. He used a revolving magnet to create an alternating current in a coil of wire, which was then used to power a small motor. However, this early AC generator was not practical for large-scale power generation and distribution. Later on, in the late 19th century, Nikola Tesla and George Westinghouse were instrumental in the development and popularization of AC power. Tesla developed a system of polyphase alternating current generators, motors, and transformers that made AC power distribution over long distances both practical and economical. Westinghouse, who had acquired the patents for Tesla's system, then developed the first practical system for the widespread distribution and use of AC power in industry and homes. Additionally, many other inventors and engineers such as; Otto Blathy, William Stanley Jr., and others made significant contributions to the development of AC technology. They inventing transformer, long distance power transmission and distribution system, which made AC power more efficient, practical, and widespread. So pixii is the main inventer? Hippolyte Pixii is considered to be one of the early pioneers of alternating current (AC) technology, as he built one of the first generators of AC power in 1832, several decades before the more well-known AC systems developed by Nikola Tesla and George Westinghouse. His generator used a revolving magnet to create an alternating current in a coil of wire, which was then used to power a small motor. However, Pixii's early AC generator was not practical for large-scale power generation and distribution. That being said, while Pixii's early AC generator was an important step in the development of AC technology, Tesla and Westinghouse are generally considered to be the main inventors of AC power, as they developed the first practical systems for the widespread distribution and use of AC power in industry and homes. Their work on polyphase generators, motors, and transformers, made AC power distribution over long distances both practical and economical. It's important to note that the development of any technology is a process and many people have contributed to it over time.

    I understand that a coil plays an important role in designing many machines. When the coil is connected to a power supply, it converts electrical energy into a magnetic field. When a magnet is brought near the coil, an electromotive force (EMF) is induced in the coil. However, this EMF disappears when the magnet stops moving. To produce a continuous EMF, the magnet must keep moving, and this phenomenon is known as electromagnetic induction. This principle is utilized in numerous applications.

    Emf is short for electromotive force. Simply put, it's the voltage that is induced by a magnetic field moving near a conductor. The loops of the wire increase the effect. Putting something ferromagnetic like iron in the center of the loops greatly increases the effect. So now we can understand that a voltage is generated by moving a magnetic field in the presence of an electrical conductor, we can begin to understand how electrical generators are made. The work on these concepts. There is also a flip side to this. Not only does a magnetic field induce an emf into a conductor, but an electrical current flowing through a conductor creates a magnetic field around that conductor. So now we can create magnets with wire and electricity. This has almost limitless applications, primarily motors and transforming voltage. The uses of inductors in electronic components are invaluable as they work as filters and in conjunction with other components like capacitors, can create oscillator circuits and all various kinds of electronic circuits. This is largely due to the nature of the voltage induced with relation to the current flowing, which is that it produces a current whose magnetic field opposes the change that produces it. The emf is basically trying to oppose any change in current flow. When the magnetic field collapses around the conductor, the magnetic field induces a counter emf that tries to oppose any change. This opposition to change in current flow is a form of resistance in an electrical circuit, one that is only presence in AC circuits called inductance reactance.

    @@luciddream2033 Inductive reactance is really interesting. If you measure the DC resistance of a transformer winding, for example, it only measures a few ohms. Most of the resistance is actually from inductive reactance and only appears when the coil is powered with alternating current! I always thought that was so weird and fascinating.

    How do magnets work? The magnet consists of concentric clockwise and counterclockwise dipole rings that extend from one pole to the other over the entire body of the magnet. Dipole rings in the same direction attract each other, and dipole rings in opposite directions repel each other. Likewise, currents in the same direction attract each other and currents in opposite directions repel each other. An electric current can induce dipoles in a magnetic material to form dipole rings. Moving magnets can induce electrons in a conductor to produce an electric current. Since a dipole ring has two magnetic poles, clockwise and counterclockwise, there cannot be a single magnetic pole. Why deleted my comment?

    You could also put the coil around the magnet ( not moving . Stationary ) and then wave a piece of metal in front of it and that will also generate an electric current due to the waving metal moving through the field and inducing a current in the coil. Then viola ! You have an electric guitar 🎸 and the metal you waved across the coil and magnet ( “ pickup “) was was the metal string if the guitar

    dont forget the magnetic field energy starts resonating, and converts into voltage when the battery is disconnected

  • @ct92404

    @ct92404

    Жыл бұрын

    That isn't really what resonance is though. When you disconnect the battery, the magnetic field will collapse and yes you will get a *momentary* pulse of current, but that's it. Resonance is when you have a capacitor connected to the coil and the current oscillates back and forth between forming the magnetic field around the coil and charging the capacitor.

  • @MasterIvo

    @@ct92404 how short it is, depends on the resistance (q factor). You forget the coil (and every circuit) also has capacity. "they" call it parasitic, but it isn't. I have researched (series connected) bifilar coils, which charge up their capacity by their increased inter winding voltage difference. These coils act as capacitors. and can hold huge amounts of electric energy in their fields.

    @@MasterIvo Ok, but this example was just a simple coil, not a bifilar winding. It would be misguidance to tell people that a simple battery and coil is a resonant circuit - it isn't. In fact, for a beginner just learning the basics of electricity and induction, it would be overwhelming to talk about resonance just yet. After they understand the basics of electromagnetism and alternating current, then yeah then you can get into the "good stuff."
