I mean it makes sense. Axis has the better team weapons (mostly i am looking at you zis) better tanks and better heavy tanks/TDs. Allies has the better mainline infantry tank destroyers and arty (barring well aimed lucky stukas). This is a bit general tho some factions have differences here and there. Like with the zis gun , stuka comet,Pfusilliers So if you take out your enemy's best assets you kinda win.

It's a setting in the options menu. It gives every player a distinct color, makes it easier to tell if you're getting double-teamed
