    My wife and I just started playing cornhole I thought it first it was kind of a silly idea until I played my first game we’ve been playing for a month now been to three tournaments absolutely addicting the most fun I’ve ever had I think the best part is the people you meet we have made so many new friends just in the 3-4weeks we’ve been doing this there is so much more to this than it looks I realize that with all of the blocks and the flips and the air males so anyone sitting home thinking they could do this you might throw a few in and then they’ll block the hole then what are you gonna do I’ve played against a handful of ladies also and they cleaned my clock their technique was impeccable so yes I had some humble pie but very very Nice people well mannered and just a lot of fun to hang around I’m hooked for life

    It's less about the sport and more about the culture, but the culture feeds back into competitive play. When you have hundreds of people who are willing to travel to different states to play in Major tournaments, it's about the game, but it's also about the family, friendships, and good times. We are on Season 16 and just getting stronger because people love to party with friends/family and have a good time. That is American Cornhole... family! I mean we must be doing something right if there were 11,000,000 minutes of our content viewed in 2020 :)

    @AmericanCornhole

    2 жыл бұрын

    Is it any more ridiculous than watching grown men and women hit a little white ball around a big course for four hours in order to hold a cup over their head or wear a green jacket? Why NOT a world championship in cornhole? Not only are there World Championships, but we have 30+ Major tournaments a year all over the country from Las Vegas to Panama City Beach, Florida and often players from ten states or more will travel to participate. We have regional leagues in 49 states and five countries because it is the fastest-growing sport in the country and men and women LOVE it. Look at it from this perspective. What happens to that kid who grew up with such competitive passion, but was never athletic enough, big enough, strong enough, etc. to go very far? What about the kids who were too shy in their youth to try out for a team, but always wanted to, and now as an adult, they have the necessary confidence? Cornhole is such a great sport because it gives everyday, normal people a chance to compete and get into leagues and if they are good enough earn a legitimate shot at a world title. A title they could earn while people are watching them on network television like ESPN, CBS, NBC Sports, etc. We had over 11 million minutes viewed of our matches last year just on YT and FB alone. It's possibly lame if you reduce it to just the game itself being played randomly in a backyard or campground. It's not lame when you look at it for what it is, a culture. It's family and friends who love to hang out and play that also live in different states. It's enjoying drinking a cold adult beverage with your friends and talking about the things that interest you between each toss. It's laughing, carrying on, having fun with your kids and spouse/significant other. It's meeting new people from all walks of life and everybody is there because you share a common love for a game. It doesn't matter if you are a Repub or a Dem or whatever, or your race, or your sexual orientation... it's people having fun playing cornhole. ... How about this? We will offer you a free Silver ticker to come to one of our Majors and experience an ACO event for yourself and see how much fun it really is. See if you get hooked immediately like so many others. Then you might readily change your mind about the World Championships, especially when it is seven days straight of partying and cornhole and you could be there celebrating too. Cheers!

  • @AmericanCornhole

    3 жыл бұрын

    There are now seven divisions and it's because of demand. The only reason why men have been better traditionally is because it has been a 9 to 1 ratio of men to women who play. That is now changing dramatically as it's a 7 to 3 ratio and that change has come over the past two years. Women have asked for Women's Doubles to go along with Women's Singles and Coed as become the most popular division in the U.S. ... BY FAR. Most women get into the sport because they are dating or married to someone who is already playing, so Coed is a great way for couples to compete together and in many cases dads competing with their daughters or moms competing with their sons. That's why the ACO is all about family!

    @@AmericanCornhole , it's called the "Dunning-Kruger Effect." Essentially, people sitting at home or even people playing semi-competitively think that they could take on the pros. A bench NBA player, Brian Scalabrine, was thought to be a regular guy that was just lucky to have made it into the NBA. So after 11 seasons in the NBA he retired and did a challenge over the summer. He challenged the best players in Boston to take him on, and he beat them all easily. People don't realize how talented pros are in any sport. That's why there's so many armchair critics.

    How so? Are there Spelling Bee leagues that play once a week in 49 states? Do they participate on multiple networks? Do they showcase spelling bee matches between teenagers and adults? Do families and friends call each other up to hang out in the backyard and spell with each other or throw cornhole? I've never heard the phrase, "I don't know about you, but I can't wait to get home and spell." If you invited friends over to spell or play cornhole, which invitation do you think they would choose? So no, we are not going to gtfo because why would we? There is cold beer, prize money, friends with good stories, and a place our girlfriends and wives actually want to go to and have fun with us and play. It's okay, you're invited too.
