Code Monkey
Музыка
This is a music video about the life of the common lowlands code monkey.
Jonathan Coulton is a singer/songwriter who releases his songs via the Creative Commons license, which enables projects such as this video. Through his "Thing A Week" podcast, Jonathan has put out a clever, creative song like this one every week for a year.
Mike Spiff Booth is a Program Manager at Adobe who though this great song really deserved a video.
Before you ask, since apes, goblins, and night elf receptionists don't tend to interact much in the wild, I couldn't only use captured game footage to make this video. Every frame of this video was composited together by hand using images captured from the WoW Model Viewer, WoW Map Viewer, and the World of Warcraft game itself.
No monkeys were harmed in the making of this film.
Please visit www.spiffworld.com for more information about my videos, including info about how I make them.
The song at the end of the video is "Big Bad World One", another great Jonathan Coulton song.

I've prob watching this video more times than any other vide on here, I started playing WoW back in 2006 and a friend in game sent me the link to this in early 2007 and I was hooked, it's just that super simple catching punkish guitar riffs and his voice is perfect for the song. Even if I never played WoW before and just heard this song I would still love it, amazing music writing skills.

2006: Poor monkey, i hope things get better for him 2024: Oh boy, this monkey is literally me
So I had a weird experience with this song today. I legitimately haven't thought about it's existence for a good 13 years or so, but for some bizarre reason, it appeared on my random Spotify shuffle of my favorite genre. I was listening to power metal. Anyway this song somehow popped up right after a Symphony X song and was followed by Sabaton and it was like my brain fucking imploded!
