Code BROWN! 2 Days Fishing The Florida Keys - Sharks, Tarpon, Snapper, Flounder, Grouper and More!!
Спорт
This was an awesome two days of filming and fishing in the Florida Keys!! I went out to explore a new area and by the second day I learned a lot and it paid off in the end! The Tarpon were biting and luckily I caught 1 and found some snapper, grouper, and even a flounder! The close encounter with the Bull Shark though probably increased my heart rate the most!! Thanks so much for watching and Tight Lines!

@@FishAholicTV If you do devote a show to teaching there I bet there are a bunch of things people want to know. My list is extensive but a few are those I mentioned above and also maybe these: What are your current thoughts on Fluorocarbon vs Mono leaders? I hear you constantly talking about reducing your leader size when you are not getting bites. I have never even thought the could be a reason I am not getting bites? A final question is why when you fish offshore do you have our sinker so far away from your hook? What are your thoughts on that rig as opposed to dropper rig where the sinker can move around on the line?

What wind conditions do you normally fish when you go towards the keys area
I heard you say to someone that you put Dr. Juice on your lures. Well that little container you were using didn't have the name Dr. Juice on it, it said something with the word "Mullet" on it. When Dr. Juice first came out, there was like a cartoon picture of a man and a hat on it I think. Have they evolved since? I too was thinking of trying to get some more of it, for some reason or another, I lost it. Can I still send away for another free one somewhere, or even have to pay for it possibly, that would be all right as well I guess. Just wondering. Thanks for a really cool video! God bless

Linked everything in the description now. Sorry for the delay. I was on the water when I posted this.
Rich buddy you gotta learn to bow to the tarpon when they jump. You lose so many of them when they jump, if you don’t bow the whole weight of the fish comes out of the water and pulls the hook.
@FishAholicTV
Ай бұрын
I know how to do it and idk if you watched the whole video. I landed the one and I bowed to it twice and I only really had one good opportunity in my opinion so that was 100% success 🤣. Let me explain. I did have four Tarpon bites in total but the first one wasn’t expected. I was targeting snapper with the squid lure with 25lb leader. Somehow I managed to hook it with the micro hooks. Chased it around for 10 min before it broke off. So I wouldn’t really count that as an opportunity and it had nothing to do with bowing. I knew I was going to lose that fish. Then since I found out the squid lure works I tired it with heavier line and I had that fish hooked as well but it broke the thread off the Nomad Squidtrex which was attached to the hooks. So that was a lure failure waiting to happen because these squid lures aren’t rigged for Tarpon out of the box. The next day I rigged them up better for Tarpon for my next attempt down there. But anyway, those two I lost had nothing to do with bowing to them. They were going to get off no matter how many times I bow to them lol. The third Tarpon I had on the line got caught under the bow of the kayak because the fish ate it, swam down current, and jumped so quick on my starboard bow side the line got caught under the port bow side of the kayak so I could not set the hook or bow to it. The fourth and final Tarpon bite of the day everything was right with my line, lure, hook, proper hook set, and bowing to the fish which resulted in me landing it. Here are other videos with me bowing to the Kings and landing them just fine not around crazy bridge structure and a lot of current. kzread.info/dash/bejne/d56J1biHYbvIZdY.htmlsi=I91miUD4qDMhAEjc kzread.info/dash/bejne/fIqDtKyuacy5fKg.htmlsi=4yMVwMgfsKBdV41b kzread.info/dash/bejne/dJWNzpiQfKyvnbg.htmlsi=Odgfm26AWWC9QFZO In the end they are Tarpon. It’s not like hooking many other fish which I’m sure you know. Even if you do everything right they still can jump off because of their bony mouth, the type of hook, and even a scale over the hook point from the bait. Do you have a 100% landing success rate with all your Tarpon….?

@@FishAholicTV Hey bro I was just trying to give some advice. I’m born and raised in Florida and fishing has been an obsession of mine since I was old enough to hold a rod. Good luck to ya.

Ай бұрын
I’m open to constructive criticism 100% but when you make a statement that I don’t know anything about bowing to Tarpon. When I do know. I just respond. Don’t take it the wrong way. Im not mad. Just two fishy guys talking about fishing. I fish 300 days a year maybe more and I’ve fished the entire east coast of the United States from Maine to the Florida Keys and back many many times. I’m one of the biggest fish nerds out there haha. If I didn’t know about bowing to Tarpon something is wrong with me. Did I bow to it every time?. No. I do the best I can with bowing to them in the kayak. You have to think about all that current pushing me one way after I hooked the fish, I’m also steering the kayak with one hand while fighting the fish in another, filming, and trying to pull the fish away from the bridge. Have you tried catching a lot of Tarpon in the kayak before in the the same scenario? If not then it’s not as easy as it looks. I respect that your a native Floridian and thank you for criticism and advice I’ll try and get better at doing it all the time. So you are right. I have to do it more. Again don’t take this conversation the wrong way. You seem like a very fishy dude and maybe we can even share a tide or two one day. I’m 100% sure I can learn from you and vise versa for you maybe outside if your state. Talk to you later and Tight Lines
