That was really special when she signed directly to him. Daniel has such a powerful story that goes beyond him being deaf. I’m so glad he was paired with a pro who is taking the time to learn his language and give him the gift of direct communication. It’s beautiful to watch him grow this season. I hope he can go all the way to the finals.
This interview really touched me, especially when the news anchor spoke in ASL herself. I have a deaf brother and I can tell you that the deaf community is very proud of their culture and language. I wish they would have said what the anchor's name is. Thank you for a great interview!

Actually there was a deaf person on DWTS before him. He was/is a model with America’s next top model.🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️

marlee martin was the first. that was established if you didn’t watch the interview. and the “deaf model” you’re referring too is named Nyle DiMarco who won. Daniel is the third which doesn’t make it any less amazing.
