cote actually interacts with the community, if you look at his liked tweets youd be surprised. problem with BHVR is that they are a very forgiving and respectful of their developers so they feel too sorry to fire people who need to be. (look im sorry but patrick wasted a year+ of BHVR resources and ended up with a self admitted shit system thats actively hurting the game. stuff like that shouldn't be acceptable.)

Because even if he fails, cote is honest about his personal skill level and tries his best to interact with the community. Even when hes said dumb shit (Civ 5 anybody?) he ALWAYS apologizes later for it. He's just a bit of a quirky dude, but he's still truly trying his best for this game and its community.

There’s a point in ever DBD player’s life where they have to discover that Almo exists. It’s never a pleasant time, but it’s something we all have to come to terms with.

Almo- This OoO player has to die, I like killing OoO players Also Almo- OoO isn't used that often and has a low escape rate, so it doesn't seem that effective. I like how he legit seems so clueless about why the escape rate is so low when even he doesn't like going against it.

@@NiLightz The old version only need survivor that has it looks at the general direction of the killer and it shows you the killer aura, but killer only see the survivor aura if survivors also look at them. So the survivor has control on when the perk activate with virtually no downside, unless the killer has any way to proc undetectable.

The biggest issue with the perk only existed with killers like freddy where, because you are oblivious in the dream world, you can see freddy's aura at all time regardless of distance, making mind gaming loops as Freddy literally impossible. Another issue was maps like Haddonfield or Midwich where there were no straight forward paths to survivors, so they could just walk in the opposite direction as you, making it take minutes to even start a chase with a survivor, let alone catch them. In these specific scenarios OoO was an auto win unless the killer threw the entire game just to kill you. funnily enough you can actually still do this if you get MoM off for the aura reading.

For years I swore that all the game design issues and bugs were due to some "senior" devs being completely incompetent and clueless about their own game and community. It brings peace to my heart to know I was right

Almo looks like he touched a high voltage door knob and hasn't been right in the head ever since.

This designer is so pro, he uses the famous "EWRD" instead of the peasant "WASD".

At where I work, I am supposed to know everything that I am working on and be able to explain any questions no matter how it is asked. My boss did the same thing, except he knows all his subordinate's work including me, plus his own work. "I know Freddy is OP but don't know why, and he is getting a change" is the equivalent of "I don't know what is wrong with this patient, but since he has pain in his leg, let's cut off his leg." like WTF, who hired this guy? Did they put all the budget to the art department?

more likely, they put most of the budget into the legal department for negotiating the licensing of copyrighted characters (Or in Ghost Face's case, just the mask)

@@ahmetfatih748 and even when those videos are present, they have to spend up to a week to ban this person... and on top of it, you will gain nothing for this massive hustle of recording and reporting (which you have to do twice btw, they will not accept just a video without ingame report), no BP compensation, no refund on your pips. Like, we know that at least someone there is a competent in what they are doing. Someone DOES make a good changes once in a while, but by the looks of it it's intern who secretly crawls from the basement during night times.

As a game designer myself - it's not always that easy to find a replacement. DBD is a project that's going on for few years, new game designer has to learn everything about the project and what the product owner wants. What they aim for and what are they supposed to avoid etc. New designer = new ideas and new ideas may or may not be better, but more importantly - may or may not be desired by producers. I'd have lots of ideas how to 'fix' and balance DBD, but I doubt they'd ever use those, because those ideas would require actual work ;)

About a year ago I had a match with this dude and ran him around a single pallet for 2 minutes. He was Pyramid Head. It was an open loop. At this point I had... 300 hours? After the match I went and said hello. He later said I was backseating because everyone was dead and I said it was a "hatch game." In case anyone needed further evidence of the unequivocal 5head power going on here.

tbf you can be bad at something but know the ins and outs incredibly well; look at coaches for both physical and esports. Most of the time, they're not exactly skilled themselves. But in this case, it's a lost cause lol

@@LilPlagueToad Replacing Almo won't change the fact that DBD will always cater to survivors and have issues that upset some segment of the playerbase. Although Almo is "Lead Designer," and has major input, he doesn't have final say in the end. He has bosses he takes orders from and has only been with the company for a couple of years. The company leadership as a whole is to blame. At the end of the day BHVR is a business with investors and employees who demand good salaries and will go elsewhere if unhappy, and they will do what they have to do to maximize profits with minimal work, which in this case, means keeping survivors and new survivor players happy with survivor buffs/killer nerfs, and feeding them cool/cute new cosmetics. Believe me, I don't like it either, but I've come to accept that it is what it is. I do agree that Almo is clueless and said a lot of dumb crap in this video but people need to relax with the whole "oFf WiTh HiS hEaD!!" crap and trying to cancel the guy just because they're mad at the state of a video game, the development process of which they know nothing about. Trust me, Almo isn't the sole bad guy and replacing him isn't going to change anything.

I am not surprised for a single second, he truly lives up to where my expectation were of DBD game designers.

I don't think game designers should be expected to be pros at the game, but they should at least have an average skill level? I'm sure he's gotten a lot better but he plays like a baby survivor.

A game designer who is good at a game is really hard to find, because they spend most of their time making the game and not playing it. But at least most acknowledge they aren't good at it and listen to community feedback, while Almo is just riding on his high horse and making changes that fit him. That's the real problem, his recalcitrance.

well as a game designer myself. this is pathetic. knowing how to play the game? ehhhhh not as important as actually knowing what the fuck you're working on. if this poundland albert einstien cant even tell me what he updated number wise in a recent update...yeah he should be fired.

This is why the MMR system is messed up, he’s probably the one guy who gets carried every game while the one skilled teammate gets tunneled xD and aslong as almo is happy with that it’s GG DBD

Devs are to arrogant to listen to the top players, essentially the ambassadors of the game that gives them a paycheck. Blizzard used to be all about community and even hiring them at times for the first ten years or so. Look at them now.

Just to make sure you all know... This is one of the people designing the game btw.

Yup, this is why I uninstalled a great game. Devs don't know what they were/are doing nowadays, and it's only getting deeper into the rabbit hole. Almo is a prime example of cluelessness, he had an idea yet lost it since the beginning, just like the rest of the team that had an idea, but it all just slipped from their grasps. I wish the game wasn't being hopelessly ran by an absolute clueless crew.

A yes, the quality game Dead by Daylight by the competent and quality-driven developer BHVR, you just have to love it!

This is how most today game designers are. They end up statistically reading the game instead of seeing how it really functions behind why it’s bad or over powered. When you see them play they are that bottom percent that you’d see in low elo. Instead of having devs play the game to a reasonable level it’s all reading community posts or stats. It’s abysmal that any competitive game survives because most if not all deal with this same issue.

I'm wondering if this was the dev telling people they should run two exhaustion perks... It was something along the lines of, "oh, you're having trouble evading the killer? Just run lithe and dead hard, it's not that hard." Apparently also the DBD Mobile official twitter posted an "op perk build" along the same lines saying, "Having trouble getting away from killers? Try this build to escape a chase" and the 4 perks listed were: iron will, lithe, sprint burst and urban evasion. (from the Demi video, "The DBD devs REALLY said this was the best perk build...")

When was the last time Almo actually publicly played DBD? Because the last time I have seen him play the game publicly was pre-Pinhead (around August, so, like half a year ago.) since then it's always Overwatch, Rocket League, Apex or whatever, VHS. I never see the dude touch DBD and I have started to doubt he is even actually still actively working there.
