She should get Serena to teach her how to serve properly. Especially in tight situations.

I don’t think BG is the issue; I believe she’s overthinking the serve because of the changes made which is causing her to miss. She just needs more confidence in it.

Good point that’s Possible I’ve heard other former players say she’s possibly overthinking it but coming up short coincides with the technical change she’s never had this many DF’s before

Not necessarily it’s just a process of finding out what works best for the player, not every player will fit perfectly within a system

Coco's serve errors are getting smaller and smaller. I believe she is getting there. I am very impressed so far.

I think she’s also getting more comfortable out there when she’s making the errors and letting them go vs harboring the mistakes

Coco has the exact same problem that Venus had circa 2004 where she hits a fast 1st serve -misses, then tries to ensure the second serve goes in by collapsing her upper body too much onto the ball at contact. Brad is not the problem but we can't see the full extent of Brad's coaching if she's double faulting like this.

Well this is Brad’s coaching he’s coached arguably the biggest server on the ATP. You haven’t noticed the change the last 10 months? Her double fault numbers are astronomical under Brad. He’s sees this we all see it, he’s the coach so what has been the game plan? She still coming up short ……

@@TennisinaMinute Andy already had a big serve before he met Brad; it was a carryover from his Junior days and Brad didn't really do anything with Andy's serve because there was nothing to improve in that department. Tariq Benhabiles, Andy's first coach, only got him as far as the GS semifinals and a lot of scrappy exhausting performances. Brad got him his first and only slam by helping him to clean up his game and showed him how to win hard matches and he did the same with Coco. I really don't think Brad is the problem here; who's to say that he's not telling her what to do and she's just not executing on it.

@@TennisinaMinute all that said, if anything that i'm seeing is that the forehand is producing more winners than it did in the past. i think the serve is an overthinking/anxiety problem. She's putting effort into producing a hard first serve, when she misses, it puts a lot of pressure/anxiety on the second serve and she's just not confident in her second serve which breeds these double faults.

1st set Coco can do it. Not 2nd set one. She needs to keep Brad, she is a better player with him. Maybe add someone to the team. She make more than enough money to do it.

Sounds about right, definitely needs to add someone to help the new serve mechanics
