Coco Cooking - Fesui makes Sua Fa'i

Our real island guy Fesui shows us how to cook Suafa'i ..... the real island way
The Samoan Style: Suafa'i (Banana pudding)
Ingredients
5-6 peeled and chopped bananas
1 cup coconut cream
Lemon leaves
1/4 cup tapioca starch
Water
Steps
Add bananas in a pot and add water to its level.
Bring it to boil.
Stir occasionally.
Add tapioca starch and stir occasionally.
Add lemon leaves and cook for 5-8 minutes.
Turn of the stove and stir while adding coconut milk.
Let it sit for 5 minutes.
Serve and enjoy!

Taste better when you put it in the refriidgerator overnight..oh yumm
The bananas were impressive, they appeared green in color but gave a nice yellow hue when cooked. The pot of suafa'i that I made (with yellow bananaz) came out looking "grey," as always but the taste was "marvelous," as always.
Yummmmm I haven't eaten sua Fa'i in ages. I think it's about time to bring back some classic Samoan dishes to the table. 👍🤗🌸

I am amazed how every Island have their own distinct dishes. I am Tongan and we don't do this dish at all.

Agree but there's a variation. We don't add Casava flour and we actually cook the banana with the coconut.
