    Hello, thank you for the review. I have some on order and am excited to work with it. Does this wax need to cure in order to improve the ht? I’m wondering if the manufacturer recommends a cure time or not? Also wondering how the ht compares to the ht in ww other two waxes. Would love to hear if you think it has the same/worse/better throw than 464.

    Thank you so much for the review sir. I’m having a problem with hot throw from 464 unless I put at least 2oz of FO to 1 pound of the 464. Am I doing something wrong?

  • @JustinKirby

    @JustinKirby

    4 жыл бұрын

    I'm fairly new to this, but I had horrible luck with 464. Bought 30 pounds on my very first order, went through about 5 pounds before it found a home on a shelf and was replaced by 6006. I've had zero issues with 6006. About 10 different FOs so far and it's been great. No major pitting, great HT/CT. Also, adding more and more FO can impair the candle rather than give you a stronger hot throw. I ran a few tests with Candle Science's Amber Noir FO in 6006 - an 8% load and a 16% load (which I new was too much, but wanted to see what would happen). The 8% candle burned better and had a better throw to it. Also, the size of your container and size/type of wick plays a huge role in it. I ordered each type of wick Candle Science has to offer and I'm testing the final three today.

    musicoverllife2 The tube wicks were an epic fail for me and I tested many. I don’t know, but it certainly was a complete waste of money in my experience. I wanted them to work because of the unique flame. As far as inserting into the clip, they are no more difficult than the flat wooden wicks. If you have success with them, please let me know how you achieved it? I would sincerely appreciate it 🙏🏻. Otherwise, with shipping, I have over $40 of wicks just sitting in my wick bin. • @ashleymial

    @ashleymial

    2 жыл бұрын

    I'm not sure if you figured this out yet but I've been studying a lot on hot and cold throw. Make sure you don't add your fragrance over 180. Check the fragrance oil you use to see what the "flashpoint" is. That's the temperature you can heat your fragrance to where it won't combust. Sometimes over heating the fragrance takes away it's ability to give a throw.

    For measuring precision, is it recommended to measure the melted wax and fragrance in liquid volume or by weight

  • @jacobking7840

    @jacobking7840

    4 жыл бұрын

    Always measure by weight when it comes to a craft like this. I primarily do cold process soap making, which is understandably a somewhat more dangerous craft than candle making, but the reason is the same; you want as accurate of a measurement as possible. Because one ounce of melted wax by volume is not the same weight as one ounce of water. Jeff explained this much better than I can in a couple of his previous videos, where he went into the process of figuring out how much wax would be needed to fill a container.
