Information used is from my experiences and what I've learnt from many different people, books, websites, actual real life bird interactons. Again, I'm not a professional so please speak to them if you have any major concerns!!

Don't rush in getting a bird ! Cockatiels can live to an average of 15 years so when purchasing a pet in general make sure you're ready for a long time commitment! Please continue to do your research on food, cages, toys etc. Use this video as a very BASIC guideline ! There’s so much I forgot to mention! - make sure you have enough time and love for your cockatiel because they do deserve as much love + attention as any cat or dog !!!

I found myself here watching videos of 'tiels remembering the good times I've had with him as i grieve my heart out. For anyone reading this, yes cockatiels certainly can live a really long time.

I'm watching all your videos preparing for my first two cockatiels and your wisdom has been so helpful for preparing me for when they come! My rescue tiel I'm picking up Sunday if all goes well! Sa wad dee anytime a cockatiel eats his crop fills up and then eventually it gets flat again because it digests the food in its crop. My cockatiel Diego has had a slim build all his life but he eats like a tank. Just make sure he is getting the right amount and the right type of food and he should be ok, get a small scale (fruit scale will do) and weight him frequently if you can to make sure he isn’t losing weight, he shouldn’t be under 60g :)

My cockatiel buddy is my best friend and still going strong at age 11 going on 12. Best birds ever. So hardy abs suck fun personalities. She definitely prefers pellets over most veggies but would die for sweet potato and spinach and a little pasta. So glad you made this.

I just got mt first ever Cockatiel 2-3 days ago. Im a 30 year old male and bought an all white Cocky haha. I had an instant feeling with this bird at the pet store, the information said it was hand raised and it was trying to give my finger love bites through the cage and i just had a feeling, so i impulse bought of course hahah! 😊 I just want to know if i have a female or a male, because i keep calling what i think to be a "Him", a " Good Boy" all the time haha so it'd be funny as hell if its a girl. Its not very chirpy only when it wants attention, i taught it to step up on the first day and have had it on my shoulder the last 2 days for about 2 hours each time. I feel like we have definitely broken the ice and he or she falls asleep on my shoulder cuddling up to my neck, ear and beard haha. Id say its a very well behaved bird, loves to preen a tonne hahaha! 😐 dust everywhere lol Not sure how old it is or if its a male or female, its all white please help, and my bird doesn't seem to be eating much that ive noticed and i havent seen it drink any water, but the water was fairly dirty each time i change it, so i would assume he/she has a drink after he/she eats, haha. Thanks for you're help

All white cockatiels can be tricky in telling what the gender is, give it more time as you’ve only had the little guy for a couple of days so it’ll still be getting use to everything and getting comfortable. If it starts to become more loud and singing lots then you’ve got a boy and if it remains more quite then a girl! But you might have to wait a while considering you’re not sure what age the bird is ( can take up to a year if they’re a baby ) as with food, try and encourage it more but the bird is still probably getting use to the surroundings ☺️☺️

My first cockatiel had a seizure in my hands about eight months ago but we never found out why. In the very early morning too so no hospitals were open yet. He was such a sweet boy; he loved to be with me all the time. Also girls are totally more moody and picky than boys. My little Nugget loved all the fruits and veggies and I made him fresh chop in the mornings with some millet and seeds inside to try getting the girls to eat but they wouldn’t lol.

I have two males and two female. First I had the two girls. The pet shop owner told me, they're a couple. They were not. 2 years later, I decided to adopt two boys. I knew, the girls are 4 years old now, so I searched in the internet. I found a woman, who saves cockatiels out of bad circumstances. One of the boys was very stressed in her swarm because there were too many females, you know 😂 And the other one was nearly naked. Now he has the langest head feathers I have EVER seen on a cockatiel! So unfortunately, they never fell in love, so I have no couple. But they respect rach other, play with each other, eat and groom and sleep together. They have a whole room for themselves and they're never locked in their cage. I'm sad to say, all of them are afraid of hands. I can feed them with my ellbow or my mouth, but they hate my hands, whatever I tried. But they sit on my head or shoulder, when I'm chilling in their room. I'm sorry, they had bad experience with human, especially with hands. Hope they live long and happy with me. (sorry for my bad English)

I originally found this video because I just rescued a 7 year old cockatiel (I named him Toshiro) 💛& needed some tips on training because he is very scared of me and I really want to bond with him, BUT then I fell in love your entire channel because we have so much in common. (Also love the sims, coffee, art, birds, ect) 💕 And not gonna lie i'm also a bit socially awkward 😅 not many friends, but you have such a great personality and I literally just sat for about 2 hours and watched all of your videos and was like "I wish we could be friends" lol. I like the diversity of what you are posting as well. Your birds are the cutest by the way! Subscribed (from 🇺🇸 America) and can't wait for more videos!

I miss having a cockatiel, my grandparent had a male one. He wasn't very yappy at all. I think he connected with 2 or 3 of us in a household of 4 (grandpa and middle uncle). He had the funniest character. Lately I've been contemplating getting one. I have 2 kids age 7 and 4 who've been asking for a cat or dog, and I'm highly allergic to both. You've given me lots to consider.
