കൊച്ചി port നെ ഇനിയും develop ചെയ്താൽ ഇതിലും വലിയ കപ്പൽ നിർമ്മിക്കാൻ കഴിയും അതു വഴി ഒരുപാട് പണവും ജോലിയും ഉണ്ടാക്കാൻ കഴിയും... പിന്നെ tvm ത്തെ പൂവാർ നെയും ഒരു കപ്പൽ നിർമ്മാണ ശാലയായി ഉയർത്തിയൽ കേരത്തിന് അതു വലിയ നേട്ടങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കും... ഇന്ന് ലോകത്തു വളരെ ചുരുക്കം രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ മാത്രമേ കപ്പലുകൾ നിർമ്മിക്കുന്നുള്ളു അതു വഴി കോടിക്കണക്കിനു പണമാണ് അവർ നേടുന്നത്... നമ്മുടെ center gont... State govt ഉം ഒരുപോലെ നല്ല രീതിയിൽ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ നടത്തിയാൽ ലോകത്തിലെ വലിയരു കപ്പൽ ശാല നമ്മുടെ രാജ്യത്തു ഉണ്ടാവും.... ഭാരത് മാലയിൽ ഉൾപ്പെട്ട കേരളത്തിലെ road കളെ കുറച്ചു ഒരു video ചെയ്യാമോ

@@abhinandb6390 actually trade unions in itself are not a bad thing. It's needed to ensure safe and friendly work environment for the working class. Unfortunately in Kerala it's being misused by people for selfish gains and thwarting the establishment by putting forward unreasonable demands. This is also fueled by the communist ideologies prevalent in the state.

nice informative video but since this was a developmental series related video i was expecting new upcoming projects, expansion or development related to Cochin shipyard.. BTW, investing in a new shipbuilding facility at Poovar would be a blunder i'd say. Firstly, it's not a natural harbor due to which the construction costs itself will be huge. Sure it will provide employment opportunities but at the same time will be taking away business from existing shipyards in an industry that already reeling with overcapacity. Instead Kerala should focus on developing and expanding the facility at Kochi. Perhaps setting up research and manufacturing of Marine propulsion systems near to existing facility at Kochi would be a good idea since that's an area where India lacks advanced technologies. FYI, India's proud INS Vikrant uses American General Electric Gas turbines.

@@CrestKerala just went thought that Thiruvananthapuram Greenfield Shipyard video that you mentioned. Interesting how you started off with praising the natural beauty of the place and then started talking about the possibility of the establishing shipbuilding facility. Don't you think that construction of the shipyard will destroy this beautiful palace and instead focusing on developing it as a tourism destination would be a better option. Also, contrary to what you've mentioned Poovar is definitely not a natural harbor suitable for ships. I just looked it up on the maps. An artificial harbor can be constructed there but that's exactly what's happening at Vizhinjam. I think a ship maintenance facility can be constructed at Vizhinjam but i'm against the idea of a new shipbuilding facility at Poovar.

Sorry to say that you are mistaken or misleaded both vizhinjam and poovar are natural And in the Poovar video we are focusing best for that place and moreover both shipyard and tourism possibilities are still there Can you please explain the thoughts about Vizhinjam

@@CrestKerala Firstly, a harbour is an area connected to the sea which has calm waters with sufficient depths provided by natural or artificial barriers and provide safe location for ships and boats to dock or anchor. In this regards Mumbai, Kochi and Vishakhapatnam are perfect examples of natural harbours where the waters near the land are generally calm without any need for extensive artificial breakwaters. On the other hand if you take Vizhinjam, it has sufficient depth but there are breakwaters constructed for the most part so obviously it's artificial much like Chennai. Looking at the coastline on satellite maps i'm guessing it's the same situation at Poovar as well. Also, don't get confused with a harbour and a port. A port is a facility consisting of artificial structures created in harbours to facilitate the transfer of goods or passengers. Now coming to Vizhinjam port, i'm skeptical on the topic. I believe i had discussed this one on the channel once earlier on one of the comments. Anyways, here's my take on it. I'll start with Pros 1. definitely provides employment opportunities for Keralites in the region. 2. A deep water port near the international shipping lane connecting East Asia to Europe offers the ability to handle even Ultra Large Container ships(ULCV) which is currently lacking in India. Coming to Cons 1. Already there's a transshipment terminal at Kochi which is underutilized but has all facilities and if this new terminal comes up it'll be a loss for Kochi which in turn will affect the opportunities there. Not to mention the loss of investment on that project. 2. Currently Colombo port which is also in the region is the busiest and in fact in much better position than Vizhinjam. It also handles the transshipment in the region. Vizhinjam has to compete with this and that's really challenging. Not to mention there's Singapore and Dubai which are also on the same route which are also well established container transshipment terminals. Hence only time will tell if this project really delivers. 3. Even though it's designed as a multipurpose port. I'm sure this will strictly be a transshipment port since there's no much scope for export that can be accomplished. The major hinterlands for this port is only restricted to southern Kerala that is not a very industrious region. Can expect a little import though since Kerala is a consumer state. Hinterlands in TN have their own ports and they would prefer that unless Vizhinjam offers better cost effectiveness. 4. This may not be an important point but I mentioned earlier that this deep water port will be able to handle ULCV. I believe this is planned assuming that container ships will grow even larger. But we should also look at the capacity of Suez Canal to handle such vessels as well since that also falls on this same route. Unless Suez Canal is expanded the ships on that route can't grow larger which effectively means that existing ports on the same route which already handles max sized ships that fit via Suez canal won't loose their prominence. 5. I'm not going into the environmental changes that would happen but this is always not so easy to analyze so i'll ignore it for now. All that said i know the project is in progress and right now i'm only hoping that it won't be a waste of taxpayers money, after all these type of projects are not just decided based on the profitability alone.
