Haven't lived in Ireland in 20 years, but growing up in the 80s and 90s in rural Ireland you would never have seen or heard of drug taking other than the inner cities. I am blown away by the normalization of drug taking by good old middle class Ireland. What the hell has happened that people in their 60s or 70s are using cocaine.

Pat Kenny literally spoke about people shooting up outside the newstalk building. Where is the "war" on drugs? The reality is that the laws against drugs are not properly enforced.

I like this reporter but with the cost of living even living a simple life the temptation is to great for a lot people to live a life or to build a nest egg I don’t take it my self or sell it but I can understand why people who can’t get work or a place to live I can understand. I haven’t been on a night out in years over the cost of beer. If your clever coke can pay for a better life and education let’s face it this government have there own people on high paying job and nice housing estates and this is a fact they don’t want citizens from housing estates making big money. This government want there own people and their foreign colleagues working and controlling people. The risk is sometimes worth the reward. Homeless people especially young girls and young families will take the temptations most of the time, a cold hungry child won’t care were the heat and dinner money comes from and either will the parents.
