Eight-year-old Peter is plagued by a mysterious, constant tap, tap from inside his bedroom wall - a tapping that his parents insist is all in his imagination. As Peter’s fear intensifies, he believes that his parents (Lizzy Caplan and Antony Starr) could be hiding a terrible, dangerous secret and questions their trust. And for a child, what could be more frightening than that?

Why is it totally giving Other Mother vibes. Is it just me or does it feel like this kid is "Coraline" and he is hearing his parents knocking to try and help him and the parents we are seeing are the "Other" parents but not in the fake world but the real world and the real parents in the fake world. That small door could be to where his real family is. Also the spider motifs offer a good comparison. Then again it's just a theory... 1 Month Edit: wow had no idea this theory would be so well received. You guys made some pretty neat points about the plot too. Guess we'll have to watch it to find out!

YES a great explanation for why parent's constantly deny their child or family members household fears/seeing of ghosts is that THEY are the evil. I love it! I can't wait to see this. I am sure there will be cheap jumpscares but as long as there is appropriate buildup of what the child comes to realize is going on instead of idiotic decisions leading to people's demise throughout the whole thing, it should be good! I love Antony Starr and hope he gets to show those different personalities he is so good at in The Boys.

The knocking happened to me as a kid. I would hear three knocks every night before I went to sleep. I was around nine years old at the time. I told my friends about it and I happened to go up north with them for a weekend. We all settled in the bed, then we heard it... the three knocks. They all laid there and I was like, "Did you hear it?". They said yes and were totally freaked out. Whatever it was had followed me all the way up north. Then when I got back home I sought advice and someones grandma told me to dip a cloth in holy water and put crosses on my door with it. I did that and it seemed to stop. She said it was probably just a spirit asking to come in. It could be either bad or good. That is my story and that is why this trailer is giving me intense chills. I keep pausing because I remember that fear. The not knowing what was behind the wall. They say aliens knock three times as well. Just the other day though, it's years later and I'm thirty now. I heard the knocks again or thought I did. It stays with you for sure.

It's not often I can recommend a horror movie as a great watch, as I've been disappointed more often than not by so-called "horror movies". But i just watched this last night and I can honestly say this movie was one of the better horror flicks I've seen. Great acting all around, a great tension-filled atmosphere, and a genuinely interesting and compelling story line make this a must-watch for horror fans looking for a fresh and interesting entry to the horror genre.

One of the scariest horror films ever . It’s a psychological thriller playing against your very fears . Nothing is what you expect until there’s nothing left but you, cowering alone in an empty house stowed away in a dark room staring down an empty hallway through an open door between what you know is there and what you wish really wasn’t . Until the footsteps you’ve been hiding from reach your bedside . It’s a beautiful ride .

For the love of God, can we please get rid of the "kid draws creepy picture & teacher suspects there's something going on at home" trope? 🙄 That, in addition to the cheap jump scares is why everybody's on A24 movies these days. They're a welcomed alternative
