Always blows my mind to see what you guys in the UK are forced to pay. Its madness. So I saw the Callaway in 2021 was £449… I just picked up a new Epic Max LS, Epic Speed 3 Wood, and a Rogue Max 3H in “Like New” condition for $405 ($415 shipped). That’s what I always recommend to anybody. Wait a yr or two and save a few hundred bucks on tech that’s still pertinent.

I will start by declaring I am a Cobra Guy. All but 1 wedge and putter are Cobra. When I got serious about golf about 8 years ago they were the only ones that allowed me to order senior flex from their website. That was huge as well as buying 1-2 clubs at a time didn't break the bank. Today I play SpeedZone SZ driver/woods, king utility & 1 Length irons which is basically a "cobra thing". However in the driver/woods/hybrid the flexibility is as big of a selling point as lower cost. I can put any shaft into any driver/wood/hybrid that is adjustable. That means if I wanted, I could take my 5w SpeedZone shaft and put into a Fly-Z hybrid that I have (if I wanted). With the cost & customization of shafts that kind of flexibility is a MAJOR factor when everything else is relatively equal. I did notice in this video though that while Callaway was picked as the "winner" the Cobra RAD was better in nearly every single category that was listed.

You have really done a great job the past year in improving your carry distance. Your previous 262 carry is long gone. How have you done it? You have always taken the club past parallel, but I don't recall your lifting your left heel as much as you do now, which I think has improved your shoulder turn. Your attack angle of between 5-6 degrees may be greater now and I think you are using the ground better and posting up well. It all adds up to more club head speed and 20 yards more. Well done. Oh yes, the review. All good drivers. The Callaway dispersion would have me leaning towards it, but small shot sample size.

Would be really interested to see a test with 45,75" shaft lenght (both CB and non CB shaft) as well as dropping the head weight by changing the back weight. With the very high MOI & head weight of the Ping head, the head's CG is trying to line up with the shaft's on the downswing and thus there is clearly about 1.5 degrees of increased forward shaft deflection / loft in the head at impact than the other two clubs. If you increase the shaft length the swing weight is going to be pretty high. I find it interesting that even with the higher dynamic loft, the shot tracer isn't even the highest - but I think I would try it 1-click de-lofted with maybe a much tip stiffer shaft (Ventus Black?)

I was leaning toward the Callaway but will try the speed too now. having watch Rick Shiels testing and maybe the Cobra. However I think I might add the Ping to the list. In answer to your price question. I need a forgiving driver rather than a cheaper one. The TSi is pricey and I would consider it but maybe less than honest if my wife questioned me. Thanks Mark. I actually swapped the LST rear weight (16 grams) into Max head saving 13 grams and it transformed the performance of the club.

One thing to remember is that manufacturer tolerance is +/- 1.5 degrees which may explain delivered loft differences.

For me, ping wins it on looks because it’s timeless and that headcover will blend well with most colored bags. But who cares about color. For confidence of being in play, Ping takes it again. I just move from a M1 to Ping G LST and I feel confident the game will improve. Never been willing to pay full retail price for the latest releases. I think if you feel a company fits you, you are most likely get similar feel/result from the previous equivilent model of the same brand.

Hi Mark, can you show how to reduce loft on ping? If I reduce loft on g410 plus the face sits open and slices. Normally I draw it. Launches a bit high for me.
