I always thought that as you aged, your voice aged with you……I now realize because of Tom, that if you keep your instrument (voice) in shape and strengthened, it will remain as when you were young. If you go back and listen to Tom in his prime, his voice remains the same! Remarkable!

Did you see the slight emotional choke right when HE KNEW Tom turned around? He wasn't even looking up. He knew his chair!

The fact this wasn't rehearsed just blew my mind. It was too perfect.

If you believe that was not a planned moment than you haven't paid attention to these shows. How did he just instantly know what song to play? These are all fake and rehersed. They have many things they do. Like having a person sing a song they can't sing. Than they abruptly stop the song and suggest they try something more comfortable. Amazingly they suddenly sing like a heavenly voice. Its all fake. It's scripted. Nothing on TV is real. As much as it would be nice to believe that idea sadly behind the curtain they just touch kids. 😔

This was truly awesome...Tom Jones and his old friend's son performing together his father's song. Loved it!

The smile Tom made when Peter sang his turn with “I’ll Never fall in love again”, it seemed like Tom seeing his friend again. A very familiar smile. Somewhat like proud uncle moment. ❤ Explains why the battle was so heartbreaking for him.

JESUS can that man sing! There aren’t many at that age that still have that booming voice. WOW!

Hearing Tom Jones sing again makes me feel so lucky to have accidentally found this. He's still great.

The mans career has spanned decades has a wide audience covering generations and the Reload album in late 90’s with various duets great songs in my opinion created a bridge between adults growing up listening with their kids then building own connection and carrying on his music in to their own and beyond. My parents always had the neighbours in and New year parties and i’m 44 grew up Mam n Dad listening to their stuff 50’s 60’s 70’s stuff and Tom was a regular and stood test of time ageless in his audience and will continue long into musical world without his physical presence as i’m sure world over somebody somewhere knows mans name and at very least 1 song. I don’t envy the pressure on the man’s decision but I wholeheartedly believe Peter has his own path ahead in music in 1 form or another and look forward to seeing what that is. 👍🏼

WHEN TOM JONES STOOD TO HIS FEET, I BURST INTO TEARS! THAT IS JUST AN EPIC MOMENT!!!! Oh what a thing this must have been for this family, especially his wife.

Tom Jones can still belt it out after all these years. So beautiful to have him sing with Lonny's boy.

I believe that Tom Jones's voice has gotten stronger with age! He's superhuman!

Seeing Tom tear up at the end. You know that was probably the hardest decision he had to make on the show.

I’m an 82 baby and my uncles and mom introduced me to Tom Jones by playing how music. Plus radio stations were still playing him.

Tom Jones did Peter Donegan a huge favor by not choosing him. The connection with Tom is established and will never be broken. Now Peter, known and adored by millions, is free to pursue his own career. 🎶🎼🎹

Tom still has a beautiful strong voice. It was great to hear him sing. So happy he turned his chair for that young man.

That's one of the major problems with music of today (mostly) they rely heavily on artificial pitch and time to make themselves sound better but many singers from Tom's generation didn't have this and had to rely on skill alone, this is why when you see some of these "chart" singers sing live or without anything behing them they sound shockingly bad while people like Tom could probably do this in their sleep simply from the amount of time and effort put it to be their best without enhancement, It's not like the older generation don't use any enhancements but it's far less common than it is today.

I hope Lonnie Donegan's son will not stop reaching his dreams and goals in life to follow his father's footsteps. Mr. Tom Jones voice is still the same even decades has past. This guy will never forget the duet of him and the living legend Mr. Tom Jones.❤️

What a magical moment this was. Singing his dad's song, he wrote for Tom. Then, singing with the legend himself, Sir Tom Jones, doesn't get any better than this for any artist. Amazing collaboration.

I’ve watched this over and over again, I seen it Live on Tv, it’s always given me a tear in my eye! I think Tom did make the right decision, You don’t have to Win to be the Winner and I think Tom knew that Peter would be Ok and he’d make it! If you’re reading this Peter I Really hope you’re doing well and following your Dream! This was an absolutely ‘Magical moment’ and was Meant to be, Fate, Destiny, just Beautiful and chills watching it 💖

I saw Peter Donegan sing this as part of a show in Skegness a few years ago. It was there that I learned that it was Peter's father who wrote the song. A brilliant performance then and again here and from the master himself.

Even if the guy loses, he had a amazing song moment. Dad was there.

Absolutely beautiful, this was truly a tear jerker! To know His dad and Tom Jones played and sung together, his dad wrote that song for Tom Jones, and now his son comes along and sings with Tom Jones. Talk about full circle

I doubt it’s the end for Peter. I mean to begin with, he’s already a great musician and without musicians you don’t have singers. This story was magical. Love such content. Powerful stuff!

What a heart-warming clip to watch before going to bed. All the judges, the two acts the presenter and the audience were moved almost to tears, so nice and uplifting unlike almost all on TV.

Me too. Don't really know why, but after that first line he sang, tears showed up. The son's playing sounded so perfect like he had played it a 1000 times. The two really created a magical moment. I wish it was recorded to download.

Was anyone else moved to tears by this video? Just wow. Tom still has it, and what a moving moment.
