Thanks for pointing that out. I read the hockey night in Canada TV ratings are down signifatley since he left. Or was fired on Remebrance Day for defending veterans.

Although I agree with you in the sense that he uses the term 'all you people' pretty generically, I don't think this is a lefty issue. CBC was just looking for a reason to fire Don (unfortunately) as he was too controversial for them. I know you'll say that the CBC is pretty lefty but I wouldn't bucket all liberals into saying, 'the CBC was right to do so under those circumstances'..

Only in Canada can 2 of our 10 Greatest EVER, be Hockey Players!!! What I really can't figure out is how in the Hell did Don beat Wayne??? LMAO! Such is life. It’s obvious when he says “ you people”. He is not racially motivated with it. It’s just a figure of speech that he has always used in conversation. First period intermissions on Saturday nights will never be good again. Gretzky and Cherry are possibly the 2 greatest Canadians of all time!!

Our values of integrity, honesty, care for each other and even the ability to criticize our government and game we love without scorn or imprisonment is something we should appreciate it!

2002 olympic gold medal is right up there in Canadian Hockey with the '72 series. 2010 in Vancouver was great too, but the team that Gretzky put together was a once in a century team. Everybody around the world was dogging us. Even a lot of the Canadian media were dogging the team at the beginning. But the boys pulled through and made us all super-proud. I'll never forget that gold medal game.

Mark these words folks, sometimes the truth is unpopular and when you can lose your job for stating the truth, you no longer have a democracy. Canada is a propped up semi-democracy that has set up the future of it's own fall. When the people who Don was calling out someday run the country, we won't have a democracy anymore and it will be hell. I met him once. I just found my autograph last Summer. It had been missing since I moved in 1991. Funny thing is I found it about a month before that commercial with him and his dad finding his Tim Horton autograph. 😁

Oh of course, Gretzky had more points, therefore, he was greater right? Hey, did you know that in hockey, there's something called the defensive aspect of the game? Obviously not, if you said what you said, but to see a player's overall effectiveness, you look at the +/-. In career +/- per game, Bobby Orr is #1 all time at +0.91/game, 2nd is Robinson at 0.53. This is one of the rare stats where his shortened career probably worked in his favor but still, that's one of the most lopsided statistics in hockey.

gymguy25 Compare +/- over the course of the same number of games. Not 10yrs for Orr and 20 for Gretzky. Do 10 to 10. Actually, do 10 vs 10 on any stat you want when you compare Orr to anyone. Start with Gretzky's first 10yrs vs Orr's first 10. Make sure you are sitting down when you look at the results.

a lot of people care what cherry says! a lot more then you bud. bobby Orr is a great defense man. He's considered the best defenseman of all-time! You could argue who's the best player of all-time between Orr, Gretzky, and Lemieux and not be wrong. nobody cares what Pittsburgh fans think ur team all most left town before Crosby saved it!

That's the moment that the Canadian guys won the gold medal you think they're going to let Wayne Gretzky down no one had a chance absolutely no one had a chance Wayne did not play that game but he won the gold medal
