Ronaldinho is one of the best players and entertainer of football to ever grace the game. But his longevity is not much. He had a much shorter career than most footballers due to his brazilian lifestyle. But whenever he played he brought out the magic in football and the defenders were scared to play against him but no-one hated him cuz he was humble and always smiling. Never an arrogant man. His smile is well known in the football World. He's also know as the king of nutmegs (where you put the ball through the legs of another player) it's an extremely hard technique to pull off and especially in a high intensity matches but he always seems to do it so easily. Maybe cuz he is a witch 😂 The Nike ad you see might be a fake or might not be (arguments still going on) but his teammates who train with Ronaldinho has confirmed they would have no trouble believing it's a real video since they've seen him pull of unreal stuff in training.

One thing that Ronaldinho said in a interview once was that, a lot of times, he waits to the defender to move, then he reacts to it. Most of his movements is he trying bait the defender to react, then he moves. For me, it's necessary an absurd amount of sinapse and reaction to do it that fast.

as a goalie, you can bait a shot, and can read a shot. Penalties are all readable if you're a good goalie. Not necessarily reachable (i see you strong shot at the corner of the net) but all readable

He is not exactly a regular dude, as his older brother was also a famous football player that played for multiple first division teams in Brasil and he played for the youth national squads on his time, that way Ronaldinho was often attending his brothers trainings at the team facilities and was around football 24/7/.

Ronaldinho is the one who made us all love the sport growing watching him play made many of us fell in love with the game, it's impossible to dislike him!

Ronaldinho's technical ability is out of this world...I remember everyone when we are kids try to do some of the things he does only to come to the realization that ...you have to be a magician to pull them off and just give up.

Ronaldinho was loved and respect On and Off the pitch, never heard or read anything bad said about him from team mates to rivals, they all loved him as a person and respected him as, for me, the best player to ever play the game (even tho not for long). A true legend of the sport with a million dollar smile :D Side node: he also mentored Messi when he was starting to breacktrough the first-team.

Ronaldinho understood the beautiful game better than anyone I've ever witnessed and danced his way through it to a beat only he could hear. Incredible to watch

The fast direction switch of the ball with one foot was invented and perfected by him. It was nearly undefendable and I've never seen anyone do it again so far. It is such a difficult move, no doubt there are players atm who could pull it of, but the risk for them to lose the ball is just too high since they aren't able to pull it of 100% like he did. I'm so glad that I was able to see the great generation of players that are now retired. Pirlo, Ronaldinho, Zidane, Robinho, Roberto Carlos, Ronaldo, Eto'o, Henry, the list goes on. Always love people who are unfamiliar reacting to them. Messi and Ronaldo obviously are two of the greatest to ever play, but the old gen was so balanced with great players on all positions it was insane. And pls react to Neuer next. He's the best goalie in the world.

This is exactly how I felt watching Ronaldinho play. No other player has ever made me as excited since and I love Messi. R9 was the best I've ever seen but Ronaldinho, omg.

Ronaldinho playing is like magic and those who sees him play are like children. Nothing but love and interest and jaw dropping experience when he plays. That's why he is my favourite of all no matter what!

Ronaldhino is and has been my favorite footballer. He always looks like he's having a blast- like every game in a stadium is as as fun as playing with your friends in the street!

The thing with Ronaldinho, is that he's pure magic and love for the sport, he's literally the sport himself, he's pure jogo bonito. He's the sport, he's football.

Wish you understood a bit more of the context of some of these moments, like the standing ovation at the Bernabeu or him taking top or very aggressive players like Nesta, Ramos, Carvalho or Gattuso for a walk... and no, he didn’t get into much trouble with other players because everyone loved the way he played. his skills were pulled with an objective, not just for showboating or humiliating opponents. Definitely my favorite player of all time! This video is great! One thing almost every highlight never show are his passes, specially the long range ones, they were pure magic! But I guess dribbling and scoring makes more dramatic videos. The man was a pure genius, I wish he had 1/4 of Ronaldo's commitment to staying fit.

He never had any nasty fights so far as I can remember, sure there were some heated momens but nothing like Cristiano or Neymar. I support Real Madrid, the main rival of Barcelona, but even with a teenage mind I could comprehend, that I can't hate him, he is just so good, I have to accept and enjoy, while it last. Messi has the same coordination, or I would call it almost Spider-sense, he is very good at solo goals and making the defenders loose their balance, but Ronaldinho has done all that, with a lot more flair, and it was always something different. Messi is almost always the same style, which is one of the best at the moment still, but yeah, good old Dinho was unreal! Ronaldo the fenomeno could have been eeven better than him, but he had an injury and a very sad ilness that made him fat, even overwight he moved like a balerina, he never reached his full potential. Oh almost forgot to mention that Ronalinho was almost always hangover he loved parties and girls, eventually, it got him kicked out of Barca, but that only adds to how good he was!!!

If you noticed, Ronaldinho was ALWAYS smiling! You could not dislike him! Love the clip of Ronaldinho, when the ref mistakenly gave him a red card. Other players would have exploded in rage. Ronaldinho simply laughed, and the ref apologized!! Ronaldinho was simply the GREATEST of all time!!

I grew up watching Ronaldinho videos and I got addicted to freestyling, I can now balance the ball on my forehead, juggle at least 500 times, and it's all thanks to this guy that motivated me.

In 2009 I went to the Chile national stadium with my father to watch the Chile vs. Brazil match for the World Cup qualifiers in South Africa. In the warm-up Ronaldinho put 4 balls on the penalty area line, he kicked all 4 and hit the crossbar 4 times, all the balls came back to him and he left them exactly in the same place where he kicked them. After the standing ovation, he took the balls, put them in a bag and went to the dressing room. I was 13 years old and I saw it live and direct.

I played soccer (defender) until 18 and can tell you that these types of players are miserable to play against. You feel like their movements should put them at a disadvantage but they don't. It's infuriating. Also, his ball control is superhuman. As someone who practiced to get good at those cuts and the ticky-tacky stuff, it's not easy. But he seems to have integrated high level movement into his regular dribbling pattern. Even from someone very familiar with the sport, its jaw dropping.

Ronaldinho was my childhood hero and definitely my favorite player of all time. It's so sad that he was never motivated enough to keep in shape and thus his career went downhill super fast. A Ronaldinho with the motivation and dedication of a Messi/Ronaldo? A scary thought. Then again I think his pure love for the sport and the fun it entails wouldn't mesh well with such a personality. In the end it's all speculation. I'm very happy for the years we were allowed to have with this astounding player.

Once you get good, and train for so long, and are active in the game, you can lead someone into spacing their legs and create space to nutmeg (put through their legs). It's incredible what you can do with your feet.
