Oh boy, apologies in advance if I have to correct your assessment of Coach products. I am in New York and am a longtime Coach "member" who has been invited to their esteemed Coach headquarters in Manhattan due to my longstanding knowledge and loyalty to the brand. Although I appreciate your content regarding Coach, there are certain points that need to be made clear. Coach makes specific styles for their outlet stores featuring the same leathers and other materials used for their expectedly more expensive retail store exclusive styles. However, their premium glovetanned leather is usually reserved for the retail store styles, but not always. Quality should be pretty much consistent across the board, regardless of retail or outlet. One of the ways Coach can make their outlet products discounted is by using less expensive trim materials, such as inner lining, strap, etc, but the quality should always be there. Yes, anyone can nitpick and notice a wayward stitch or two of any luxury brand including the much more expensive Italian and French brands. Coach should honor a quality issue and repair it for free within a given time, product being from retail AND outlet. Sometimes, more exclusive retail styles will show up in their outlet stores for being a past season or overrun stock, usually labelled as "Coach reserve" (but not sure how Coach Australia identifies them) and are expected to be discounted for being in an outlet store. In the end, I purchase Coach products based on the style I'm after regardless if they're retail or outlet items, although I have a weakness for their premium "glovetanned" leather because of its superior feel ("hand") and rich history. Oftentimes, italian leathers don't even match the "hand" of Coach's glovetanned leathers especially when aged and moisturized properly through the years. All the best.

When I buy from the retail store it comes with duster. But when I get outlet they don't have it from my personal experience

Very well said . Everything you said was spot on and the case in Australian as well , not sure where he got his information from . Quality from outlet store is next to none . And all my purchases have had dust bags 🙏

We are a big Coach family. My wife and I have many Coach products from both the retail store and outlet store. I don’t think the quality of the outlet is that much lower than the retail just different. Example if you buy a men’s backpack from retail, it’s going to probably be suede lined on the inside vs an outlet backpack which will be lined with fabric. I have an all calf skin backpack from the outlet and I have been using it daily for over a year and is holding up very very well. Yes there are some Coach Outlet stuff that is lower quality and the outlet dose have tons of logo mania, but don’t be afraid to shop at an outlet. Just look the bag over real well for feel and build quality.

Coach products by far are great quality merchandise. As a consumer you must know your materials i.e canvas & leathers --cross grain, pebble & glove tan. Coach sells products exclusively for the outlet & retail in both canvas and leather but again you have to know your materials,. The retail stores uses higher quality leather and canvas while the outlet uses lesser quality of materials but they both are good. materials. When shopping at the outlet, there is usually a display wall with retail items which are often last season’s or discontinued items.....BTW, luv the Breitling.

It is very easy to understand, not everyone is able to pay $1000-$3000 dollars for backpacks or suitcases, but they are able to pay the price that the outlet charges for products, even if they are of lower quality. I particularly can't afford to pay $3200 for an LV but I can pay $480 for a coach, which is enough for me! Thanks for the video, I discovered the channel now and I will follow!

I agree with you. You don’t really need to spend crazy amounts on a bag. I personally think it’s a look at me status owning a 5k bag

I have both retail and outlet Coach bags and wallets. Quality is the same IMHO. Difference is retail has the nice styles that you won’t find at the outlets. It’s the less popular retail stuff that may make it to the outlet and last season items. But in the end, outlet always has nice items at a good value for good quality.

I’m a huge coach fan because I’m fond of the company history and sustained quality of product ❤😊

I don't know if you are aware at this point, but GUCCI, PRADA, SAINT LAURENT also produce outlet only products. Just like coach, all those brands feed their outlets from the overstock at the boutiques (after the items were put on sale at the butique store, but did not sale). But... A lot of the items at the outlet are created exclusively as an OUTLET LINE. Gucci creates a small g logo called microguccisima on the items, Prada do a lot of nylon bags, they also do t shirt with logos etc. Louis vuitton and hermes don't have outlets.

It’s the bougie ones on the comment feed. I’ve purchased retail Coach and outlet Coach. My outlet Coach, some I’ve had for years and still looks like I just took it out the box. Coach will always be a fav for me because the leather is high quality next to my other fav, Louis Vuitton.

This is bang on. Just bought a coach backpack from the outlet in Roermond and the quality is absolutely stunnning. Also this backpack was sold out everywhere since Suga from BTS wore one. Banger of a deal for around 300€.

Coach Made For Factory (MFF) IS lower quality than their items in their retail boutiques or Factory Deletes (aka deletes), which are retail overstock items that end up in their outlet channel. That said, the materials, durability, and construction for their MFF items are VERY good! Honestly their QC on their MFF items is better than Louis Vuitton and Chanel to me nowadays. The only difference is that the Coach outlet items are made to be sold at a lower price point than their boutique bags, which can have quite intricate studs, quilting, whipstitching, appliqués, and other high end details. Coach outlet bags are simpler in design and construction to streamline production and result in a lower cost for the end consumer. It’s perfectly normal for a $1000+ glovetanned top grain leather boutique bag and a $200 corrected grain pebble leather outlet bag to have a price and quality differential. TBH I’m glad Coach is creating products in both segments and pricing them fairly.

I live in the UK, I love Coach. Would take Coach over any of the popular brands. All of my items have come nicely presented, dust bags and all. I have been wearing Coach for absolute years, all of my items are still in great condition.

Coach has made for outlet items so it's not really true. If I remember correcly, if the item code starts with "F" it is made for outlet. You can be lucky and get an item in the outlet that was mainline.

They do make products just for the outlet. Tons of brands do this. They capitalize on people thinking they are getting a good deal. Some stuff is too much supply most is never going to be in a retail store.

In Australia the outlet stores sell the retail store stock at a discounted price since it didn’t sell retail. I believe the outlet stores also get outlet exclusives (like the recent Peanuts collection) but most of it is just discounted retail stock

Each country has different rules and setups for Outlet stores. Some countries manufacture lower quality products specifically for the Outlet stores just to have their brand out on the streets. Michael Kors had alot of success doing this. People have come to appreciate this now knowing the main stores have very high quality products. There is not much overflow with higher quality stuff as its either bought up or not manufactured in large numbers. And the QC of higher brands can be questioned with Chanels peeling paint issues......

I don't know if you found any more information out on the coach outlets, but when I called them to ask why my products were coming from the outlet, they told me their outlets are actually for out of season stock and that quality was of no difference, and my messenger bag come with a dust bag and my wallet also come completely boxed and in coach wrapping paper.

Coach has confirmed that there is a quality difference between outlets and full price stores. I have 4 bags now that shows the difference in quality. However, some end of season stock do get sold in outlets.

Last Christmas my wife bought me a Coach outlet breifcase and this Christmas she bought me a Hudson backpack, both under $300, the quality is amazing on both..... There is no way on earth im spending 2k-3k on a bag..... Coach outlet is good enough for me.

I bought two coach bags from the outlet. The prairie satchel looks so cheap I’m not satisfied with it but the mini Lillie is better and more sturdy. I am going with Michael kors next time for a discount bag. Coach bags from the outlet don’t look like they are going to hold up over the years.

Can you sell me your Track Backpack Colorblock from Coach that is in white and blue lines please? Serious buyer if you don’t want it.

The hardware on bags from retail Coach is better than from the outlet. The outlet bags often have imitation gold which looks really cheap. Coach retail bags will have brass hardware. Every retail bag that I've purchased had a dust cover. Retail will use glove tanned leather, leather interior.

Thanks for your comments. I took what you said on board and made an appointment with a Coach rep and they have taken me through there products. Even though my contact within Coach told me a few different things other than what you mentioned I now have full access to there stores to do reviews on retail bags and so on. With that said, I’ve been offered a new retail bag at a discount to do a comparison review. Which will be uploaded today. Thanks for your comments

Thanks for watching and your comments. So I haven’t updated for some time due to work commitments. However, I have bought other brands to do a comparison. Let me start by saying. I will continue to buy leather and canvas goods from coach. I’m actually surprised by how good the quality is compared to LV, Gucci and so on. With LV bags and so on it more a look at me and what I have. Coach doesn’t need that reputation because they are good. I love my coach bags and shoes. If you look after it, it will last a life time

The difference between outlet and retail is all in the details and hardware. We've heard the horror stories of quality control issues from both luxury and contemporary brands so both are subject to failures there, especially LV. The main luxury brand that stands out in craftsmanship above all others is Hermès with Chanel being a runner up in resell value. Everything eles you are paying for the brand name first then the skin used and the fine details last.. your wife has good taste Coachs 1941 and glovetanned lines are impeccable and easily should be counted as luxury. Jennifer Lopez owns the most expensive Birkin in the world and she loves Coach
