Hi Fashionable stepmum, you keep cutting short Murugi in the middle of a thought/ sentence all through the episode. Please let the guests finish their thought process and then offer your opinion on their thought. It allows us the audience to hear everyone

I met someone when I had no child of my own. We had a child together unfortunately she passed away along the journey and her daughter I found her with became my child.
Mature and healthy co parenting! This is great.
Both of you are doing a great job, I am a single Mom and I am not getting support from my child's dad, I don't know how to go about it but I sure can coparent healthily if the other party is involved
My daughter has completely been ignored in his father's house. I am far away but some step mother's will never see HEAVEN!!😢

🙄 Let's also not blame step mothers entirely. Where's the responsibility of her father in this matter?

@@kay3262 I agree the Father should stand up for his child
My mom was an excellent stepmom to my step siblings (my dad had several extra marital kids) and she could have easily chosen to bad mouth the moms and mistreat the kids but did otherwise.. I had never heard her speak negatively of those women nor the kids.. instead she took in 4 of them including paying school fees while my dad went MIA.. In as much as it was a completely toxic situation, I earned siblings who ride or die with me.. my mom passed away back in 2013, but her legacy still lives.. If I tell you my mom’s siblings still engage with my step siblings.. attend weddings, graduations, call each other…funny and sad thing these women cried the most at my mum’s funeral.. because they knew the only person who worked hard to protect their kids interest was my mom.. So I understand Cathy when she says she over parents the step kids because it comes from space emphathy, these kids already have enough on their plate that wasnt of their own making

I love being a step mum,I am of 6 children from 4baby mama's and I came in with one.Its been 6years of up and down but amazing results .I recently had a wedding and my step children were on the line up.I have to say me and my hubby have the special grace you can tell, the children are from different mums it is credible.Concidentaly ,I was raised with a step mum too who was good..So let's not have this negative vibe that step mum are evil.In some situations it works well. One day I'd love to tell you my story.
Apart from being wise I think your heart is pure

True @murugi, thanks for bringing the perspective about the 'romantisizing' the input of the other mum.... & Idealistic way of thinking.

As a co parent, thanks for having this conversation. I really empathise with the parents who can't co parent and pray that it gets better for them. I have done it successfully for the last 7years out of a WhatsApp conversation we had two weeks after the separation . We agreed on terms and 7yrs later,we have both kept our end of the agreement. What I can say is first, you both need to know that your feelings don't matter only those of the child so be a grown up and think of your co parent as a good person who wasn't a great fit for you but might be for someone else. NO MAKASIRIKO. Secondly, be kind, be fair and don't bad mouth your co parent to the child. Thirdly, extend grace to your co parent, say he should pay school fees and he has lost his job,if you can, help out until he's back on his feet. Inability to provide financially doesn't make anyone (especially a man) any less of a parent. All these to say, co parenting is doable.
