The discussion about dogs and cats is one I have frequently. I love both and they both suffer from bad rep, or at least rep that ends up hurting them. People think dogs are just naturally loving and obedient, which they are to a certain extent. but this doesn't mean they don't have boundaries. THEY DO!! people just love to pretend they don't and that is one of the reasons why we see stories of people getting attacked. They can also be very stubborn. Look at huskies for example. People think they're stupid, but they're not. It's just that when you go "sit", huskies are thinking "nope, get fucked". Also, dogs are not always affectionate. They may even dislike it all together. My dog absolutely hates cuddling and has times where he will warn "bite" to say he's done with being pet. For cats they just suffer a lot from most people being terrible at reading them. Cats don't attack out of nowhere like people love to say. They actually give a lot of warnings, ppl just suck at getting the hints. the only exception is attacking suddenly due to overstimulation from being pet. Still, in that case, you should know your cat enough to know their tolerance to touch before they become overstimulated and lash out. If more people realized that we're not the only animals that have likes, dislike and boundaries, a lot of pets would be happier than they are now. this is not towards jake or dish. its just a personal rant because this matter gets me fired up lmao.
