Devon, I finally made it to your exhibit yesterday, and I was so blown away to see your paintings in person. The level of detail and thoughtfulness that you put into your work is truly mind blowing. went to see your work last friday when i was in the city and man, it was amazing. i had only seen your videos of small black and white drawings. to be up close with your oil paintings was a mind blowing experience. you capture the humanity in people and their personalities leap off the canvas. big fan for life. thanks devon!

True. But as an artist myself that can do hyper-realism... this guy is just a good copy machine. There's nothing creative happening here.

@@horizonblack it's just an objective viewpoint. He does hyper-realism and does it quickly... but it's not objectively creative...it's literally a copy of observation.

@@ms_beastie Art can be defined as using aesthetics to create an emotional response. You don't have to agree. There are reasons that he chooses his paintings. There is an underlying message. Said another way, I was at the Dallas Museum of Art when I saw a painting of a large red square that was slightly off center. I did not get it until I read the title. Until then, I thought it to be an uncreative "modern art" piece.

From what I hear, here in Chicago, your exhibition is fabulous and you're a huge success. Congratulations. Maybe one day you'll have a travelling show so your fans across the country can see your art up close. I would definitely attend. Again, congrats. It's well deserved.
