He could of been out of his element, not himself, not thinking straight. Who are you to pass judgement so quickly on something you obviously know nothing about.

If Anthony Bourdain teaches us one thing, it's to engage and respect people of all backgrounds, find common ground, disarm them with open charm, and seek out what they truly think. This seems to be a long-lost art and a key to depth of human character. RIP

yes, pit. Bourdain was a great chef and showman, but a LOSER. I don't care how blue you feel, or how many wrinkles you see coming in, when you have a 12 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER, YOU LIVE FOR HER!

The Guy Chris I respect your opinion and point of view, but do not agree at all with you. He had the right to his feelings. His daughter will have to live her life, just like the rest of us do. It is selfish to force someone to stay alive when they don't want to. You were not living his life, so you don't understand and will NEVER understand what he was going through. And no, by killing yourself you are not a coward. Have a beautiful life and I wish you lots of love.

A lot of people don't understand that many don't kill themselves because they are depressed. Some of us are not afraid of the unknown and we just can't wait to explore it. That doesn't mean we are cowards. We just want to know what's after this life.

He is to me a first and foremost a Food Ambassador to the world. A Cultural and Global Ambassador. He was also unabashedly REAL. He was a great Story Teller. He showed us you can experience global culture through food and their very local stories of the human element. He wasn’t traveling to some posh resort in foreign countries and saying he was there like how most people in the U.S. Travel globally. He spent time with locals, in their elements, eating their food and seeing it made and the learning the stories of their culture that put that food on the table. Sharing that food made with the local people, their families and communities. You learn about people and culture through that lens and very much their story. He went there and brought us along. And that is what he meant to me and will miss him. I have passport for a long time and have personally traveled to Parts Unknown. I’ll always treasure my time in Lima Peru and into the Peruvian Jungle. Anthony you’ll be missed and pray you’ve found peace wherever you are. You’ve made a difference in my life.

Mine didn't pass of suicide, but I did lose a good friend recently to suicide it is really really hard to deal with. I've struggled with anxiety and depression too. I really hope we as a people can work together to bring down the stigmas surrounding mental health and have more people being helped properly for these very common types of human suffering.

The thing is mrs. cheerio, they're LYING! Lightbulb. The man did not hang himself. He was a horrible roll mold. And where'd he even come from? One day he's this big celebrity chef yet not one time has me or my buddy who's a huge fan of A. B., never saw him cook. Really. Did he even really exist? But nonetheless, he was an alcoholic slash herione addict. And if he was human and not just a digital image, than more than less he od'ed. Period. Don't call ppl ignorant. Thats so typical.

R H And how on earth does that justify the comments leaving just as or even more violent remarks or make the people writing them any better? Disapproving the things someone has done/said is one thing, but comments like the first two on this thread are beyond me. People who are wealthy generally have more access to opportunities and resources to make them happier, but that doesn’t automatically mean that they‘re guaranteed free of psychological problems. While sometimes it’s hard to fathom why people with so much money commit suicide and some people watching may find themselves not caring, it in no way, shape, or form makes some of these comments any less malicious, unknowing, or just disturbing.

We really need to break the taboo of mental illness, talking about it instead of hiding it is a good first step. Real pathological depression is indiscriminate - it targets anyone: the young, the old, the privileged and the poor. It can often develop into a deadly condition, look for the signs, don’t shy away or judge people who you think might suffer... unless you’ve been through it yourself, you won’t have the slightest idea of what they’re experiencing.

zedrick zedwick Well, unfortunately it is an illness which means you’re absolutely wrong. Clinical depression often has a physical cause such as chemical imbalances, glandular issues, the environment etc. it is factual, empirically provable by modern medical science. Real depression is not about “feeling sad” - a seemingly “healthy” individual may have had a good upbringing, has a good job, great family and friends... but yet his body ”tells” him he needs to kill himself, that’s just one aspect of depression.

Gem_Gem7 What do you mean “all these celebrities”? Mental illness is the no.1 killer of adults under 30. It’s a world-wide problem. You notice it happening to celebrities because... they’re famous. They’re just as vulnerable as the rest of us.

  • @rushgush

Szminsky emotions are not diseases, period.... “chemical imbalance” is a coined term from the fake psychiatry industry to push more drugs on people. show me one legitimate medical test which shows and proves ANY “mental illness” you won’t find it. psychiatrists don’t take blood, don’t take bone scans, no urine tests, no brain scans. now ask yourself why they don’t, i’ll tell you why. because you will find NOTHING, because “mental illness “ doesn’t exist.its all created to make money and to control people, and it’s also to discredit christians as well, which is discrimination in itself. it’s all choice, and suicide is sadly a selfish choice which hurts other people. we all have sadness in us, we just gotta pray to the heavenly father for help to control the outcome of it and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour and you will choose life. i prayed for anthony and i really hope he cried out to the heavenly father.
