I would rather have a smart garage door. Let me check if I remembered to close it in my hurry to get to work in the morning. Smart lock would also come in handy though too.

The philips hue is pretty dam cool. To do the whole house is gonna cost a small fortune. For alot of rooms the more affordable lux lights are way to go. For the living area and backyard hue lights are the fun choice. Literally turn the living area into a party in seconds or kick the lights off for movie night. Want to pause the movie to grab a snack. Boom light up the lights to the kitchen. I have it combined with the smart phones, tablets and logitech remote. I will probably get the thermostat next. Then the smoke detectors. I can see a use for the wemo switches but at some point I am sure I will. Smart locks I am not to sure about.

Am I the only person who doesn't trust these front door "smart" locks? At least with a regular lock, the robber would have to deliberately knock down the door; making it obvious that the person doesn't live there. With a "smart" lock however, all they would have to do it walk up to it, hack the lock's system, and then quietly waltz into the house.
