    Im glad i came across your channel. Im old and by all rights should be retired because of age but still are working for an automotive plastics/ sunroof manufacture. Not out of dire necessity but do not whish to be retired with nothing but my home machine shop to play in. I got my CNC certificate at a local jr. College about 5 or 6 years ago. I did not have any access to cnc machining equipment and just used what i learned in class to become a better manual machinest. And i absolutely think it did that. But recently the mold shop at work purchased a new cnc mill and it renewed the intrest in the cnc process for me. After 5 or 6 years with not using the g code i came across this video. And would like to say by watching it 1 time i was right there with you just like i finished class yesturday. Your explainations were clear and to the point and not muddled with information that clouded the water. There are nany good videos on this subject on yt but i think a person would do theirself a service going through your posts before getting other perspectives.

    Is g54 the same as using a touch probe to get the zero position and what is ment by offset?

  • @thebelieversvoices3461

    @thebelieversvoices3461

    2 ай бұрын

    Yes, it is designated for a zero. Offset is the term we use. G 55 would be another zero offset.

    @@thebelieversvoices3461 thanks ive got a 3 axis cnc and would normally just use my xyz touch probe to get zero position and modern cad software to generate g codes for me but most employers still use this old - style g code so im having a hard time adjusting, but your videos are a great help!

    Hello! I am from Bangladesh. I completed my HSC in 2022 with a GPA of 5.00 in general education. I now want to become a CNC programmer and machinist, but I do not know where to start. There is a technical training center called BKTTC (Bangladesh Korean Technical Training Center) that offers a 3-month machine shop and CNC machine operator course, as well as mechanical AutoCAD 2D and 3D. I have decided to dedicate myself to learning these skills. Could you tell me about the future of this career path? Is it a stable job? Are there any chances of losing my job? Are there any better alternative careers that I could consider with great potential for growth and earnings? Will learning CNC help me achieve my goals, or will it be a waste of time? I would like a clear and conceptual solution to my situation. After completing these courses, I want to go abroad to work as a CNC machinist because there is no opportunity for growth or a happy life in Bangladesh. Please give me the best solution for my career. I am looking for your support. Thank you!

    Wise choice. Take your education . Get some experience. And teach it. CNC will never NOT be an industry standard. And if it is replaced by something bigger and better you can slide right into the new thing with ease due to your past cnc training and experience. You most definately can have a rewarding carrer and make a respectable living wage while doing so. It would be a good resume skill to put on a application to enter any country you wish leagelly. Or may open avenues in your own country that you did not know existed let alone obtain. Good luck sir.
