CNC carving a guitar neck using rotary jig mount

Compared to the stationary jig I was using previously, this arrangement requires far less machine movement, reducing carving time and wear on the machine. It also allows for "fattening" or "thinning" the neck simply by starting the Y-axis slightly further in or out. This video is running at 4X speed. The actual carving time is about 28 minutes.

I got this idea from a KZread video I saw of a CNC machine carving a large wooden propeller. In that case the rotation was continuous. Here I tried continuous rotation, but it didn't buy me any speed, and it was more complicated, so I just went with the back and forth motion. I don't know where you can buy one of these machines. I made this one myself. I was able to make the mechanical parts with just a drill press, a band saw, and an old Craftsman 109 metal lathe. The gearing is part of the motor, and there is a W.M.Berg worm gearbox as well. The blade is an 8" custom blade with bullnosed 3/8" teeth.
