CMT Exercise Series, Part 1: Ankle Balance and Proprioception

In a collaboration with Physiotherapists Rebekah Lee and Gita Ramdharry, the CMTAthletes developed and produced a video series highlighting the benefits of exercise for those with CMT. In the series, specific exercises with modifications are demonstrated. Areas of focus include improving strength and stability, mobility and reducing the risk and impact of falls associated with CMT. The series delivers high quality exercises which people with CMT can do in the comfort of their own home.
Disclaimer: Before beginning a new exercise regimen, first consult with your physician or physical therapist. No two people are alike, and one exercise program is not right for everyone. We recommend showing these exercises to your physical therapist and working together to create a program tailored to you!

Hi Rebekah, I am wondering if you might do some hand exercises for those of us with CMT, or is that more of an OT's area of expertise? Thank you so much for this series of great videos!

CMT patients can have a huge variety of symptoms and varying degrees of severity. I have CMT. I would never say to this person that it does not appear they have CMT. You don’t know what there problems are.

Yes, she does appear to have CMT. If you can't spot the symptoms, then go do more research. Her balance problems are a big give away for CMT.

@@doze2129 Agreed, quite obvious when you have it and know what to look for. Also notice her feet, the toes are curling which takes away the balance support... eventually it is like losing your toes which makes balance even more difficult along with nerve conduction problems.
