The edge are tilted a bit, we can see in the first passe that you removed more material on the upper part. Should work anyway but will wear down quicker as the disk will only support on the edge. Idk if i explain myself well enough

There was a company back in the late 90’s, don’t know if they still exist or the name, but you could send your clutch basket to them and they would machine it then they had stainless steel sleeves the would put on the tabs. Pretty cool

I remember the stainless steel sleeves that fit over the tabs, wonder if you can still get those.

Super take your basket to your local engineering shop and they will quote you $200+ to machine it, so not too expensive to get a new one then is it

Cool video, but 95% of people don’t have machining equipment in their garage. Most people would need to take it to a machine shop for this which would negate any cost savings over just buying a new basket or a used one in better shape. This is why most people just file them lightly. Still works fine if done correctly and costs nothing but a little time.

You screwed up your cuts! you made the cuts to the center like min 1:20 that's wrong. dogs are not pie shaped they are square. If you take 1/2 the width of the opening and off set your line to that you would be correct. I can see you didn't do that because when you start to cut you can see its wrong now the inside of your dog is going to grove before the outside. But I gave you a thumbs up for a good video. Thank for putting in the effort.

G9Garage I have a yz250 where I'm at now that i just got and have gone through. I also bought a wr450 back in phoenix ( I've been traveling the country on my Harley and stayed the winter with family. They have a bunch of woods, and i felt i needed to make use of them). I bought the wr kind if spur of the moment. I only rode it about an hour. I have to go through it and check everything out. I'm used to working on my Harley and 2 strokes, but what would you recommend for checking out the wr before i can be comfortable with riding it a bit hard? Check valves? Thanks for any help. I could really use someone more experienced to talk to so i can ask questions and bounce ideas off of.

From my experience, the WR450's a very reliable machines. If it's not rattly or smokey and it starts easily - id just ride it and have fun!

G9Garage you don't recommend checking the valves or anything? M I've read a lot of posts but too but a used 4 stroke. The wr is an older bike.
