Looking at the amount of clutch dust on the actuator you removed, I’d expect the gearbox will need to be removed and the dust cleaned off the fingers / rollers and the rest of the internal parts, if doing that might as well change both oil washers. The clutch dust often clogs up the internal fingers etc. bit of a flaw in design no way to remove dust over time, other than to open it.

I just replaced both actuators. The process seemed smooth, but now they grind when setting themselves (first noticed during the relearn ritual). I did spray brake cleaner and WD40 before installing the new actuators. Could that cause them to slip and grind?

Awesome 👌 perfect explanation and good camera management, thanks a lot man your are the boss, just one question, where did you get the actuators, did you get them from the local ford dealership?

I'm literally dealing with this on a Fiesta, but with the lower actuator seized in the transmission. Damp Road salt!

First, I want to thank you for your video. I had a 2012 be actuator stuck open and I changed them both. It worked great thank you. But I just bought a 2015 that was a flood vehicle. It starts up but will not go into gear. I know I need to join all the fluids and stuff but can you give me any insight to why it won't go into gear?

Soo perfectly fine to use a 1/4 socket ? Because most won't have an E8 . And do you know if I wanted to turn the the fork what tool would I use to go into the hole ? This other mechanic a Ford Transmission mechanic with 10 years exp;erience ( he said ) that he rhinks my fork might be stuck ) He says to turn it 11 times . Make sure it's not binding . Could this in any way further damage my clutch / transmissin ? I've serious slippimg issues with lower speed gears . This might work ? 16 Focus 2.0 L SE DPS6 tranny

Hey man thank you for this video. My car pulled a p090c and hoping this will fix it. There’s no other way to tell than to try right?? Issues with reverse and low speed acceleration gear 2ish it will feel like it kicked into neutral for for a sec then back again. Higher speeds is ok. And also do I have to do a relearn before driving it after replacing the actuator?
