Club Car Electric to gasoline conversion first run.

used a dremel tool and cutoff wheels to machine a 3/16" keyway into the input shaft.
Vevor gearbox
$40 gx340 I added electric start
9:1 final ratio
top speed is 18 miles per hour and drifts on demand with the stock tires.
the Club Cars tapered frame was the hardest one I ever stuffed a big block into. There isn't much room to keep everything under the seat hidden.

Great build. I could not see how you built the front pivot point for the engine bracket.

Hi I am going to do a build like this what I am going to do is bolt the motor and jack shaft to one plate so the belt dose not have to move.

@stevenpleasant5834 Then as the belt wears and stretches there will be no adjust to continue using the belt. If you adjust as it wears you can 90% more life out of the belt. Non adjustable you replace the belt when it wears and slips

Hows that gearbox holding up after a few months of use? They're only really rated for 7HP tops but a lot of places list them working up to 14.

Did you have to turn down the imput shaft also for the gear to fit? Like the trans mount and ajustment too. Good job.

Yes I chucked yp the input shaft into my lathe. It a China gearbox so it's a metric input shaft.I skim cut it to 5/8". If I remember right it was .630" and 5/8" is .625".

So far it holds up to the abuse.Cable adjustments are finicky due to the internal slack in the shifter shaft. One day I'll pull it apart and see if I can make a tighter clearance bushing.
