    You need permission and licence to do that from your region ATC and also you need to be a organisation to get those permission .

    So start thinking about a PIR foam container. This is the obvious solution to the issue of stratospheric temperatures. Judging by the moderate stiffness of the entire structure, the ENTIRE hull was made of this foam.

    @@andrzej3511 insulation only works until temperature has equilibrated on either side of it, & it has to be sealed against convection.

    ​​@@pcka12 Have you never noticed that batteries have internal resistance? They heat themselves. Here, that might be a smart idea, pull Amps and drain that thing, to keep it warm.

    @@voornaam3191 now you mention it I do know that (strictly speaking) cells have an internal resistance, so that rapid discharge will create heating, quite how effective this might be I don't know, all of this relates the maxim 'a 10 degree Centigrade/Celsius increase in temperature doubles the rate of a chemical reaction' which is why electrical cells work so poorly at low temperatures - a factor very much effecting electric vehicles.

    @@pcka12 As the flight of this plane showed, somehow the battery did not freeze. And I bet dollars against peanuts that no one did any sealing of the battery. Why? Because the battery heats up when under load... And rather, the battery needs to be cooled rather than heated or particularly protected against frost. I am absolutely sure that PIR foam is a completely sufficient solution in this case.

    We've seen solar panels put on the tops of wings, but I wonder how effective solar panels on the bottom of this airplane would be with all the light bouncing off of the cloud layer.

    Given measurement units in the vid are in metric it would be safe to assume that the aircraft was flown over Europe. The FAA only has authority over US airspace.

    Fly is on ~21 km. Kármán line is arpund 100 km. Нe was the first person to attempt to calculate a theoretical limit of altitude for airplane flight.     If you watch the video, sometimes the horizon is concave and sometimes it is convex. The curve you see is from the wide angle lense that distorts the image. While the earth is round, this observation is certainly not proof of the roundness of the earth

    @josephinebennington7247 Exactly, they see the curve but they just can't admit it and blame the camera lens for bending a straight line but there was a guy who sent up a balloon with two Go Pros equipped with lenses that show straight lines as straight lines and curves as curves and the Earth was still curved much to Flat Earthers' chagrin.
