Byzer / Cloudhammer Steelworks 51CrV4 unokubi-zukuri sent to me by John at RVA-katana.
Tough sword though far from perfect at this early stage of their offerings.

Thanks for watching. This was done with the thick factory edge. Also see the sober review (post sharpening to refine the edge for performance) kzread.info/dash/bejne/qWaptK9ykcWuis4.html And after proper niku dialed in: kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZH2mpdlpfba2edo.html Huawei may not be offering their 9260 budget swords anymore, but this Cloudhammer is a close second and would happily recommend. For an even better steel, ask John at rva-katana about sx105v or s5, which are much higher-rated.
I can't tell you how incredibly satisfying that was to watch. I'm glad the anonymous person recommend I send one to you!

Anonymous person is full of good ideas. Glad you enjoyed the video. So far much better sword than expected!
This was real art. The humor, the masks, and especially the cutting...just great. Outstanding presentation.

Thanks Mr. Chop! Usually I'm not the reviewing type but couldn't pass this up. Planning on a more methodical approach for the next vids. Appreciate the good word and glad you got a kick out of the vid

@@KF1 I can only speak to my own esoteric preferences but I think the “I’m drunk in a tiger mask” format is solid gold, and I’d hope you might consider sticking with that approach.
Wonderful job buddy, fantastic cuts, that's a beautiful piece

Cheers Joe! It has good character, hard to describe it otherwise. Cuts were a lot of fun and went better than expected. Thanks for watching
The way you handle a katana is so swift and beautiful.

Thanks very much. Had a lot of practice tho a lot of it is the tsuka shaping. Took me by surprise first thing. Very connectable/controllable sword
Great review, very funny and a bunch of cool tidbits like the lady bug and steel info. Those vertical cuts are awesome, stopping on the cap of the lower stacked Gatorade was slick. Also super wood cuts!

Those gatorade caps were some of the funnest things of the session. Very controllable sword, this. Kinda dull factory edge but fair profile and no damage. Thanks for the good word, man. Haha ladybug just cruisin along lol
the slurred speech is great. sick skills dude

Wow!, great review my friend!, I commented on the big fuchi on other reviews, I could see where it could really be uncomfortable but it looks like it cuts like a demon, amazing cutting!, great job!
@KF1
Жыл бұрын
Thanks man! Naw it's not uncomfortable at all. I don't grip the fuchi so forget all about it when cutting. Would like to see it tapered to match the handle but it's a very small detail in the overall package. Thanks for watching

@@KF1 I don’t grip the fuchi either, except maybe sometimes I end up on it when I draw, and yes, a minor detail, but it really looks awkward, doesn’t serve their cause,…great observations given my friend!, well done!
Awesome cutting

Thanks man! A lot of it is the indexing of the sword. Blade/handle alignment is near perfect so it really goes where it's supposed to.
cool video + great cutting! ;-)

@@KF1 not half as likeable as that review that was hilarious!
Great video and review, love the tiger mask. Tip for you, keep your index finger below the fuchi,and it will give you more movement. Should it be flush yeah, but if you're index finger is below it,it won't matter.

I agree the index finger should not be all riding up against the guard. Never bothered me once when cutting these. Thanks for watching, man

Great review. Everyone is saying its close to 5160,but my research has led me to believe its closer to 6150.i could be wrong though,lol
@KF1
Жыл бұрын
Thanks man! You might be right, though I think in either case it has less Silicone. From what I saw, spring steel like 9260, for example, has 5x the Si. Not sure about 5160 or 6150, going to have to read up about those more. Thanks for watching and the input
Like the sword's overall look. It would look nice with a suguha hamon. I'm not so big on the through hardened blades. Great review
@KF1
Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, Yoto. Suguha hamon would be cool, though given the Th edge hardness it's not necessary for this steel. Supposed to be a practical entry level, basically a plain backyard beater. Love a nice suguha tho, classy look
Nice cutting man, enjoyable video, laughed a lot, tenochi looked good to me

@@KF1 had to watch this again, to be honest probably the 5-6th time I’ve watched it haha what’s the nagasa and tsuka lengths? John sending me a S5 mat cutter with bohi, 12”ish tsuka and 31.5” nagasa, handling, botto, and noto should be interesting

Hey, if it's okay to Drunken Box then nothing says that drunken katana reviewing isn't safe! Great short and to the point review! I keep eyeballing their Sk5 Longsword though.

Lol fun day. Hey John from RVA is reasonable, gave me credit on a defect buy and paid shipping to replace. He's a good seller. I would write to him and simply ask for a better price. Might go for it.

@@KF1 I am about to upload a video right now called 'Snap Shooting'. I made a comment about being drunk in the video, although I am not really, and funny thing is I shot the footage yesterday before I found your video. I am going to add a link and card to your video. My life has been very coincidental lately, or I like to believe, more synchronous. Too many coincidences in a short amount of time is no coincidence if you ask me. Synchronicity just seems more logical as opposed to a series of random events connected together by chance.

@@HandyLInteresting. Have you been reading the I-Ching? I would be careful with that book. It can make you see patterns that may not exist but in the mind. Archers, as swordsmen, strive for connection often mistaken for accuracy. Just my 2c

No I haven’t read the I-Ching but i did a lot of drugs in high school and college so I can’t help but see patterns that only exist in my mind 😂 Seriously…😳🤔🫤
One more thing, being left handed, you would have the upper hand in a duel with someone right handed
