Hi Katherine. I really enjoyed this video. I never knew that wire hangers could snag other clothes in the closet. My Grandma would always cover those - I guess that is why she did. My favorite general purpose hangers are plastic because they are washable. Hangers like clothes get dirty as well. The worst hangers in your demonstration are the black velvet (collect dust, too weak and break) and the wooden pant hanger (shown with the built in jacket hanger) Those type don't keep the clothes clamped and the pants just slip through. I do understand your remark of using the same hanger to make your closet look more uniform. I will consider that in future. Keep up the awesome work!

Hi Kathrine! Thanks for this video! I think it is ok to mix your hangers (for example if you only have one closet for all your cloth) it is still look cohesive if it is in one or two colours (hangers). I believe that only one rule is really matters "to hang your cloth is always better rather than to have it on the floor!":)

Great overview! My favorite are the slimline, but they do break a lot.

I find the black flocking comes off the velvet hangers onto some clothes. Depends on the fabric.

I have those velvet hangers and I love that my clothes don't slide off, I haven't had them break but I don't twist them often. That being said my mom uses them as well and complains about them breaking easily..

I hate to tell you, but your mom is terrible clutz. I've been using them for 15 years, and neither I nor my husband has ever broken one. Or does she have a lot of pent-up hostility?

I dislike the velvet hangers. They leave noticeable creases on the shoulder of garments, and it's too hard to slide garments on and off them. I mostly use the clear plastic kind with the swivel top. I've never had to purchase any of these because I always ask for the hanger when I buy a piece of clothing in a department store. They've recently started to make plus-size hangers, which I love because they fit my clothing better. They are 2 inches wider than standard hangers. For hanging my leggings/sweatpants/etc., I use the tubular plastic ones and fold them over the bottom part. I think it's a myth that the flocked hangers save space. The widest thing is the garment, not the hanger. Plus, if you have so many clothes that you need to mash them up to fit them in your closet, you need to purge some.
