Chain mail is a finely coordinated motor skill for any beginner was once a thing that could save save the life of a solder very interesting indeed how we can remember some things of older days or how this art was created not as easy to do I being new to chain mail look forward to giving this style a chance Your ways of teaching are a major leap forward as weaving is tricky as is and the knowledge you share is clear however still confused till the knack and rhythm are achieved rewind and fast forward study and studying some more thank you for a fine aid to difficult learning look forward to seeing more from you in this fascinating world of chain mail

Used to do chainmail in my high school days. Just picked it up again yesterday and your videos have really helped me jog my memory on how to do these weaves again. Thank you so much, also would you maybe recommend a few of your videos with the more popular weaves? I would appreciate it. Thank you :)

You are welcome =) About the weaves... you know, there are lots and lots of them =) So it is quite hard to give any advice, without any information about your skill. But anyway... Candy Cane Cord is very popular - I have a nice vid on my channel, so you can use channel search to find it. But CCC is kind of advanced level weave, so if it will be difficult to make it, you can start with classics - half-persian weave, full persian weave, box chain and of course byzantine and tryzantine =)

I am new in chainmaille, I like this weave but it looks so difficult. Couple of questions, are the 14mm. jump rings ID or OD and where can I buy them, I have never seen them that big. Thank you, keep the good work.

Good day =) Well, in chainmaille rings the most important characteristic is aspect ratio(AR). AR = ID/WD, where ID is ring inner diameter, and WD is wire diameter, so usually, when we speak about ring diameter, we mean ring inner diameter. So 14 mm is for an ID. So for that weave you can take any kind of rings with apropriate AR. As I remember it should be 7 for this weave. At the present moment I don`t sell rings because of problems with the post, but you can search for some local suppliers, or try to make rings by your self. If you still have questions, find my at facebook ( Dmitry Malash), and I will try to help you somehow =)

Mechanical Brain mostly the Wyrm weaves right now. Or if you have any others that would make good stiff handles (have a few projects in mind that I don't want to let the cat out of the bag on)
