Close

Woah this hit a bit too close to home for me. I cried my eyes out. But what a wonderful movie and beyond superb cast. If there’s only one criticism then it is that Remi’s mum who’s a nurse and probably knows that even better, didn’t immediately say: “it’s not your fault. There’s never a single cause to suicide. Most people push someone away at some point in their life and nothing happens. Ohhh you poor thing!” I know this because when I got to Wales (where he and his wife lived), hours after his death. She almost immediately said: “we had a massive row…” I told her that the row didn’t bring him to this, as he’d attempted it at least twice that I know off. Once when our parents were away and his house mate called me to check our parents’ house. Up til now the worst day of my life. She also told my mum it after the whole drama of the investigation and then the funeral - that takes forever and that waiting really stood your life. And my mum Also said to her: “it’s not your fault. I can’t take away the guilt I wish I could! I also wonder what I could or should’ve done differently” So yeah I’d expected Remi’s mum to put her arm around the kid and tell him immediately no… you poor thing. “ Especially since I thought that Remi had tried self harm or something before since his mum was worried when the bathroom was locked! That’s to me was so recognizable! That was when I thought Remi had a background of self harm and that this would end in suicide. But hey if that’s the only thing to complain about…
