If you go back to older videos you can see the smoothness and progression get better and better. It's not always about the trick its about the entertainment of presenting the trick. Jonthan is a awesome entertainer and has a great flow to his presentation of tricks.

yeah it's really the clever design of the patter, calling them the mum and the dad, giving the spectators the general idea of making more than one appear - I reckon that probably happens quite often to be honest and makes the trick feel so much more magical. Really clever

Yeah it's so cool how people can be so suggestible, you tell them something happened between their hands they'll often say they felt it. If you tell someone "in a second you're going to feel something" they always will and it's so powerful
