Close friend of Elvis Sandi Miller, shares her memories of him

Sandi Miller met Elvis Presley in California in the mid 60's whilst he was spending a great amount of time there making movies.
As time went on they became close friends and she was regularly invited in to Elvis homes to visit with him.
Sandi took a great deal of candid photos of him spending time at the gates to his homes with the fans, talking and signing autographs.
In this interview she shares some of her special memories of him with me.

YES she did! I can't even imagine what life would be like without ALL the GREAT photos from Sandi. I'm not trying to sound dramatic or anything. Just being honest and sincere. Think about it, most of the gate photos and personal ones were from or by her. Now imagine not being able to see them or ever being able to see them. We All owe Sandi. THANK YOU Sandi!!

Sandi met with me in Vegas. She’s the sweetest. We had a drink and a bite to eat and she shared stories and answered all my burning question hahaha. What I find with most are they are very protective of Elvis even still. There are secrets that will stay just that. There’s a definite sense of loyalty.

50 000 000 fans are most certainly in agreement on what a fabulous person Elvis was! We know quality when we see it! What a man, a truly gifted legend. I will defend his reputation and legacy every time I come across the degrading ignorance that some display when commenting negative stuff about him. No one can touch Elvis when it comes to being authentic, sincere and humble. His ever escalating fame never reached his ego. We will surely miss him until we are called home ourselves. Much love to all Elvis fans out there!

Every time a person who knew Elvis talks about him, it seems that at this very moment he embraces him with all the strength of his soul. And you just physically feel this incredible warmth, this immense tenderness, this great love and emanating from his heart. Even after so many years, and I would even say that the more time passes, the stronger these feelings are. And yes, you said quite correctly here that when you listen to Elvis, you experience genuine, pure happiness. ❤

Wow I am in tears. What a beautiful discussion. I loved hearing about who the real Elvis was. I love him singing, but would much rather hear him talk and be himself. He was so funny, and sounded like a Jack of All Trades interested in many subjects, and hobbies. I feel that he and I would have been best friends as we have a lot of similarities, and interests. I started crying of course towards the end. The two things that got me were, his last words to her, when changing yourself, just realizing those things are half the battle and he was there half way, I'm sad he wasn't able to make it fully, but he wanted to change and help himself and I am happy to hear that. As for the second thing that got me was when he was waving goodbye to her and said drive safe, that's something I always say, and knowing he also said that and his kindness just got me. Miss you so much EP

Great interview, no salacious gossip or betrayal of Elvis,s integrity. This lady clearly holds Elvis in great esteem, and bears true witness as to knowing Elvis the person. She paints a clearer picture as to what made Elvis tick, her many stories are of Elvis being a people person and how , making others happy made him happy. Not once throughout the interview did she show anything but the utmost love, respect and admiration for the the person she was proud to call her friend. It was comforting to know that when she last saw Elvis he had mentioned about the changes he had planned to make, like you said it had been rumoured and also dissed by others. I think we can now believe that Elvis had a long reflection and he himself knew things had to change. What I will say this ladies stories of the times she and other friends spent with Elvis at his various houses are nothing like the events certain people in his inner circle recollected, I think I know whose version I believe. Elvis clearly liked this lady as a person and her him.

Now, this is the first time I will dare to share a thought of mine that has evolved in me after all these years I have been watching Elvis, not only as an artist but also and especially as an individual and it concerns the way people felt or reacted when he entered a room, or even when he was just around... I don't know how to put it in words because it is really bold but there is only ONE I heard/read people reacted the same way and that was... JESUS(that's really bold)... I don't compare, not possible. What I mean is Elvis must have had something Devine about him. He was not just an ordinary person, he was special and this a common fact because everyone who ever met him says exactly the same thing. I don't want to insult anybody's faith but this impression has stuck on my mind for years. And as we know about HIM, Elvis was also betrayed by the ones who were close to him.... I wish I had the chance and luck to meet him, only once...

We’re always trying to get even closer to Elvis the man if that’s possible. However, this achieved that. It was heart warming, insightful and reminded us what a beautiful heart he had & that he had time for so many other people whilst being a superstar at the same time. Hence why we love him so. Her story relating to the day he passed was very moving...I could visualise the events happening as she explained..Gulp! Thanks Steve, great interview & thanks for sharing Sandi ❤️🤴🏻⚡️

Sandi is right about the day Elvis died it was a cloudy day in California . I Lived in San Pedro, CA and after the announcement on tv that Elvis had died it started raining. The 8 years I lived there I had never seen it rain in the summer. I never forgot about how it rained the day Elvis died.

My gosh, I'd love to read Sandi's journals. That's what we need to know, what he said, what he wore, what he did. She really needs to get them published for us. It was so sad to hear that the last time she saw him he told her he was going to take time off, get healthy and go down another path. I wonder who the girl was, I'm sure if it was Ginger, she would have remembered. Another great interview Steve, thank you. Thank you also to Sandi for sharing your memories. 💖💖💖

Jacqueline I Totally agree! I'm Sure millions of people would also Love to read them. I think that they should be published as is. Untouched, unedited, as if you were reading the original from her home. As f it were a diary. Which I guess it or they are. What a treat and honor that would be to read them. We can only hope! And on your other point. NO that wasn't Ginger. Sandi knew who it was I'm sure. But out of respect and honor she wouldn't say. I'm sure it was the woman he was taking on concert with him. If you've heard (which I'm sure you have) stories by the guys saying or telling that Ginger was NOT going on concert with him that another woman was. Even going as far as saying that he would NEVER marry Ginger that he was in Love with this other woman. Sandi pretty much just verified the other's stories. That Elvis was spending time in Palm Springs with another woman and was taking her on the upcoming concert with him.

What a brilliant interview with Sandi Miller her memories of Elvis are precious as you hear the emotion in her voice both happy and sad , the time I've spent with her was precious as she shared her memories Elvis and her life , She was sweet enough to put me in touch with Donna Lewis in Memphis whose family knew Elvis as her father worked for him from 65 to 77 , Donna wrote 3 books Hurry home Elvis her memories were precious as were her photos especially of the G ranch , Donna like Sandi spending time with them you quickly understand why they were apart of Elvis's life .

That was such a good interview. It never occured to me to try and meet Elvis where he lived but guess I could have..but not as often. I was in Anaheim that day he passed and I've never heard anyone talk about the weather that day in CA.. it was as she said plus it was muggy and hot..actually like a southern day which was too uncomfortable for Calif. I heard the report on the radio in my kitchen.. and the craziest thing.. I had bought groceries earlier and I had one child at the time who was napping. I had peanut butter cookies and bananas on the counter and I looked at those and remembered Elvis liked that combination as I stood there in shock and kept re-listening to the radio in disbelief. Edit.. About the spiritual change Elvis was making.. In Rick Stanley's book he said Elvis told him he was being able to make those changes he needed to for that reason. So this is another confirmation.
