That was a lot of roots! Sounds like the customer needs to change the battery in their smoke alarm/carbon monoxide detector. I had to pause the video as I thought it was one of my detectors beeping.🤣🤣

If there was no other place to drain the washer, I have seen the washer line tapped into the vent line just above the trap. As long as there is also a trap at the washer that would prevent sewer gas from entering the house and make a water tight connection.
