    @@GABRIELA-ACEVEDO. I started with Breaking Bad when it aired , then The Walking Dead when it aired , then The Wire even tho it was older , then Sons Of Anarchy (definitely the darkest of all these shows by far & the most ruthless) & then finally Boardwalk Empire & Boardwalk is the one I enjoy watching over & over the most but I go back to all those classic shows regardless , this tho just happens to be the one I rewatch the most❤

    Interesting how once Rothstein cut ties with Luciano, his ultimate downfall began. By season 4, Rothstein had been squeezed out of the heroin business by the Italians. But Luciano stayed partnered with Meyer and eventually became the Godfather of the Italian mafia. An Italian and Jewish partnership. Probably the best analogy for the expression '2 head are better than 1.'

    I've watch thise scene many times but still never understood what was going on. So basically to stay out of jail Lucky gave the 2 cops working for Rothstein all the heroin. But the Heroin was paid for by Masseria which means Lucky and Meyer are the ones qho still owe Masseria although Rothstein now owns the drugs.

  • @benyang2427

    I remember watching the series progress & cheering for Luciano/Lansky/Siegel as the "underdogs" & then hating how ruthless they were at series end. You know the show does a great job when they pick the right times to be "descriptive" & at other times...."vague." The vagueness results in the audience performing Google searches on AR, Lansky, Luciano, etc. I only wish Boardwalk did more with O'Bannion, George Remus, and Frankie Yale since my research indicates those guys had VERY interesting lives...

    I agree, the casting was fantastic. The actors and the writers absolutely nailed their personalities and chemistry just how I imagined them to be through what history has told us. Even though you knew Lucky would take over at the end, watching his rise was incredible. Such an underrated TV show.

  • @Britton_Thompson

    @Britton_Thompson

    3 жыл бұрын

    Because it really is his money. Don't you remember? There's a scene where Lucky and Joe are speaking Italian and playing something similar to horseshoes in a little sand pit behind his restaurant in Little Italy one afternoon, and Meyer has to stay back away from him on the sidewalk because Joe doesn't want to do business with Jews. Joe Masseria turns down Lucky and Meyer's offer to join them in the heroin trade in Italian, and Lucky snaps back, "Don't be disrespectful! If you're gonna say no, say it in English so my partner here can understand you." Joe mumbles something about "Christkillers as trustworthy partners..." or whatever and he eventually allows Meyer to approach him. Joe sits down at a little table and they finally wear down Joe and get him to join them in the heroin trade for $100,000. In addition to the profits Joe makes from it for his $100,000 investment, Meyer and Lucky warn him Nucky is going to make a move on Joe soon, and that they'll give Joe information on Nucky and Arnold Rothstein's business dealings together now that Nucky has is only selling liquor to Arnold Rothstein alone. It took place during the war in Tabor Heights between Nucky and Gyp Rosetti. Instead of trying to resolve the war by finding additional avenues for the illegal alcohol trade to continue as they promised, Meyer and Lucky are secretly trying to use the war as an opportunity to supplant bootlegging with narcotics. To them, this is the perfect opportunity to get people hooked on heroin and have them forget about liquor entirely. Unfortunately for them, the timing just wasn't right. The market wasn't ready for it.
